Staff are lovely and location is good but worst room I’ve ever stayed in dirty and has a awful ant infestation and mould on the shower pipe and mirror

Very bad hotel I’ve been seeing, there needs to be renovation, so old and dirty. I cannot sleep all night bc of the rat or something running around on the ceiling. And my skin got itchy from the bed. Dang my worst experience ever!!

The reception staff are good service, The hotel's location is also great, there are the beach with amazing sunset views, The rooms are decent for the price, not too bad for me, If I return, I would definitely stay here again, Thank you so much, Kob Kun Ka

Excellent hotel location, friendly staff. However, the hotel itself is very run down and clearly needs an update and renovation. I have mixed feelings; on one hand, it has everything you need, but on the other hand, everything is worn out. The room is cleaned, but it still feels untidy. The views are gorgeous, but dirty rooftops of neighboring houses and crumbling gutters ruin the experience. Even the bed linens and towels are torn and stained with unremovable marks. They didn't bring an ashtray for 7 days, even though they saw an improvised ashtray made from a disposable cup on the table, while other rooms had them. And it's like that with everything; there's no point in describing every little detail. To sum it up, I'd say for the price, it's okay. We weren't expecting anything luxurious; we just needed a place to sleep, as we spent very little time at the hotel. Will we come back here again? Absolutely not. For the same price, you can find much better accommodation on the island.

The location is about a ten-minute walk from the pier, but there are steep slopes up and down, which can be quite tiring when dragging luggage. However, the environment is lovely. The sea view bungalows offer direct ocean views from your private balcony, and you can also watch the sunset from the reefs, which is very pleasant and peaceful. It's not noisy at all, perfect for those who enjoy a quiet getaway. Just be aware that they don't provide water or toothbrushes, and the quality of the shower gel isn't great.

Excellent service, pool, and direct beach access right in the heart of Walking Street.

The location of this hotel is the best part, close enough to all the restaurants etc, but far enough where you won’t hear any of the music. It is also located on a small road with little traffic so is relatively quiet. The air con in the room worked well too. However, a few problems included the very low water pressure for the bathroom sink, which did make it annoying to wash your hands. In addition, the wifi couldn’t reach our room.

I enjoyed my stay at the Simple Life Talay & Divers Resort. The location was excellent. Close to everything including the ocean and beach etc. The staff were excellent, very helpful, polite and kind. The layered pools were very cool too and of course you have an amazing view of the ocean from all levels. The room was good, nothing super special but we were also staying in the "back" away from the ocean/pool due to the price we chose. Oddly enough, the room didn't have a window in the front, just 4 "glass" blocks so it felt like a cave at times. But great to have the mini-fridge and warm water shower cuz the weather was unseasonably cool and rained one day. The first night there was this awful noise of water dropping on a big plastic bucket all night long and we had a very hard time sleeping. But thankfully, we were able to the staff to move the bucket to the noise went away. Many of their Burmese staff stay in our building as well so you have to put up with various noises of people and families chatting to each other, making "Som Tam" and banging on things. But no problem recommending this place to anyone. Very pleased with our stay there for what we paid! And of course loved our time on Koh Tao and can't wait to go back!

Better than expected but you can can feel that the place is a bit outdated. The reception is very helpful and act in requests like more towels etc. Great for sleeping but maybe not to spend long time in the room as it’s a bit dull. 4/5

This hotel isn’t the nicest, everything is semi falling apart and is poorly maintained. The bed is rock hard and some of springs poke out from the mattress 😅. Location is great and the beach is quiet and pretty nice. Air conditioning works well.

It’s okay, nice view.

We had a lovely stay at Simple Life Talay. One of the best things was the free transfer from the pier when we arrived – we didn’t expect it, and it made things so much easier after a long journey. On the way back, there was a small 50 baht fee for the return transfer, which we didn’t know about in advance, but it was still super convenient and worth it. The staff were helpful and the whole experience was smooth and relaxed. Would definitely recommend!

Location is perfect. WiFi is a little slow or stable during peak hour. Good staff service.
