"We were stopping at a villa in the village and went to the hotel for dinner one night. We thought the food was very overpriced and fairly average quality, but it is a lovely location and the staff were excellent and very friendly. I guess its primary purpose is as a hotel rather than as a restaurant."

"It was my first time staying in an all-inclusive hotel. The hotel was modern and well decorated. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. The restaurant was open at almost any time and there were basically no restrictions. The kids loved the water slide. Although it was not big, there were not many people and they could enjoy it. Unfortunately, the temperature was relatively low in early May and there was a strong wind. Although the outdoor swimming pool was beautiful, it was not very swimmable."

"Apartment dated but clean. Pool bar expensive and strict rules about your own drink and snacks not being allowed. Kostas and Dimitrius was so welcoming and friendly. However Ioanna was not friendly and gave out to children daily about splashing pool, no ball allowed. The pool area did not feel family friendly and we found it hard to relax eventhough the children were only having fun, we felt scrutinised."

"Absolutely top-notch staff service! The dining was also superb, and the views were incredibly stunning. The only issue was that the elevator in the lobby frequently malfunctioned, getting stuck and not opening its doors unless someone pressed the button from the outside. As for hardware, the power outlets on the walls in the room were a bit loose. Other hardware was fine."

"We booked this hotel with Tui just a week before departure. We wanted a swim up room and this hotel certainly ticked that box. From the minute we arrived the staff were amazing. They entertained our 3 year old whilst we completed the check in process. Our bags were taken to our rooms for us which was very welcome after the flight and bus transfer. We had a swim up room off the main pool, it was very clean and exactly as hoped for. The pool was very quiet, as it was for the entire stay. It is as good as the photos suggest. We never waited more than a couple of minutes for a drink at the pool bar which was fantastic, the kids especially loved the iced coffee's. The atmosphere throughout the holiday was certainly relaxed. It didn't matter if you were in the pool, restaurants, bars or the beach. It always felt quiet. We never took up any of the sporting options although they looked great. We never ventured outside of the hotel so could not comment on the location of anything in the vicinity. We enjoyed the food and despite eating at different times most days found the restaurant to be quiet. There was certainly plenty of variety and our kids never complained. All in all we really enjoyed our stay and thought it was great value for money. We will be back here for sure. Massive shout out to the staff, from the reception staff to the cleaners they were nothing short of fantastic. We have to say a special thank you to the gentleman in charge of the restaurant and Giorgos in the main bar who made our little boys holiday with how friendly they were"

"Firstly we really did enjoy our holiday especially visiting chania however the hotel is definitely not a 4 star hotel. The Pros first were, our room had a beautiful sea view. The wait staff were incredibly attentive and it had a bus stop right outside the hotel making transport easy. However there were a lot more cons, the alcoholic drinks were extremely watered down to the point it felt like you were just drinking pop and not wine. There also seemed to be a lot of preferential Treatment, It was noticeable that guests who paid extra for certain upgrades, like premium cocktails, received more attention than those with all-inclusive packages with my mum being ignored at the bar for multiple minutes whilst the bar staff chatted to those who paid the extra bit for close to 5 min, which felt a bit unfair. One of the worst parts was the early Morning noise there was consistently loud noises early every morning around 7 AM. There were constant sounds of hammering, scraping chairs, and banging, which made it difficult to sleep in and enjoy our vacation, we realised they were having construction done above us which we weren't told about. The fire alarm went off 3 times late at night and we heard nothing from reception about what was going on, I had to run down and ask and was shrugged off saying it was just a problem in the kitchen. the alarm then went off again at 7am which woke us up, when we asked them again after breakfast the receptionist just smirked and said it was a little problem, my mum then told him they should've really let us know what was happening because multiple fire alarms going off is scary, he carried on smirking and only when my mum started to get mad did he apologise. There were a few problems as well with the room, the door firstly was extremely stiff, when locking it from the inside the lock just seemed to keep spinning, maybe 4 or 5 full turns before it locked. There was a kettle with cups but no tea coffee sugar or milk which we found weird because why have the facilities for it? the shower was a walk in one with just a small glass barrier that didn't reach fully across, this meant that everytime we showered it practically flooded the bathroom, the shower head also looked very dirty. At night there was also a weird crackling noise constantly which was either coming from the TV or the air con we couldn't figure out which. One of the days when I went to use the self serve drink machine it seemed there were ants either In the machine or in the cups you grab from the side. Also upon arrival there was a lack of Information given, they took our passports for a couple of hours, we were given a list for meal times and then given the key, we had to ask for the safe information which was free he just forgot to tell us, we then had to ask other guests where we went to dinner as we didn't know since during the day the area was closed off. The food was extremely limited and repetitive, they had basic salad bar which wasnt covered up so often "

"Beware of cockroaches! On our second night, we discovered cockroaches in our room. When we asked to change rooms, we were told they couldn't offer anything because they were fully booked. Apparently, they sprayed something and it was supposed to be okay, but it wasn't. The following nights were spent watching to make sure nothing was crawling on us. The hotel doesn't deserve a 4-star rating, and the food and all-inclusive standard are a complete mess. The food is mostly catering, very monotonous and tasteless, mostly. The bar, sandwiches, and snack bar by the pool are a complete mess. Two old refrigerators serve pieces of cake in plastic boxes. "Salads" (a few green leaves) or a few pieces of fruit are served in the same boxes. The snacks are breaded, and you don't know what—it's fish, not meat. I tried it once, but I won't do it again. Our room, 707, is located in a terrible location, overlooking the wall of an outbuilding. Right next to the terrace is a road where all deliveries are made from 6 a.m., so sleeping after 6 a.m. is out of the question. And Christos at the reception, posing as a manager when we asked for a room change, said: "As far as I'm concerned, you can leave the hotel immediately and you can write your opinions wherever you want. The only good things are the location by the sea and the service - really nice and friendly people, it's a shame they have to promote this hotel. They give it 2+ stars, not 4. No all inclusive, only three meals of poor quality. The price is definitely excessive. Never again with ITAKA COMPANY.""

"The apartments are very nice, well furnished with a very furnished kitchen. The beds are very comfortable, beautiful bleeding and towels. It is a nice accommodation in a small village in the quiet port. There are interesting restaurants but mainly a starting point for the beaches of the area. Breakfast is made at their hotel, which is 2 minutes by car or 10 walks away but is exceptional because it is a luxury hotel. We had a problem with the shower which inevitably flooded the whole bathroom and we reported."

Spilia Village Hotel & Villas ★★★★
"Some of the staff have a bit of an attitude problem. It also seemed mechanical the way the in-house restaurant manager ’Manos’ spoke to us and everyone else. Also he was dominant in his behavior towards the customers making it uncomfortable to say when something wasn’t right. Making it feel like we, the customers, are the problem. He was also favoring customers that responded better to his dominant ways of interacting. We spoke to several other couples there who agreed. On our first evening we had dinner in-house (the only time). When we got to the outside restaurant area, 2 staff and a random person sat smoking in the nearby bar, no one welcomed us until we stood in front of them looking confused. Went onto having an undercooked burger and a boring pork chop dish. Go to the nearby local restaurants (2 close by). The hotel should keep to breakfast and snack menu and then excel at these while working with the local area for eating out. It already being a village hotel this just makes sense to lift and utilize their surroundings better! Kudos to ‘GENI’ and ‘Vasillis’ a waiter and receptionist who both were good to us. The facilities have potential (a lot) but the execution is lacking accordingly. Pool area needs music. The lights around the hotel is something you install in your shed or a backlot with motion sensors. The table tennis area lacks all kinds of mood setting. Talking about the place resembling a shed, that area tops the list. Also the table was broken along with the bats. Use lamps that resemble a flame. Yeah all in all a lot could be done for the setting. You don’t get the feeling of being in a hotel that has the stars they tell you. On paper they achieve the stars, but not in our combined experience of the place. "

The staff is very friendly! A little something for my daughter's 3rd birthday! The all-inclusive is very good! With the added bonus of à la carte dinners 👌 I highly recommend this hotel! "We stayed here as a couple in June for 5nights. The pool area, public areas and gardens are immaculate! We stayed in room : apartment 51 which was at the top of 4 steep flights of stairs (not good if you’ve got mobility issues!!) We were slightly disappointed when we entered there was a strong musty smell, although the walls had been painted, the kitchen area was tired, with scrapes and small chunks missing on the worktops. It looked grubby and shabby. There was also no kettle which meant we ended up having to buy one at the local supermarket!! When I mentioned this to the lady on reception, she said that they don’t leave them in the rooms, you have to go ask her as they don’t leave them in the rooms. I’ve never heard of that before !!! And it certainly didn’t cross my mind to ask at reception when it was an apartment with equipped kitchenette that we’d booked. Rare to have a hot shower and the bathroom was shocking. The bath was rusty, stained and made me not want to step into it. We were told that the rooms / apartments were undergoing renovations and we assumed they hadn’t visited 51 as yet. It also lacked patio furniture out the front. That would have been a nice touch. Views were absolutely stunning over the town, harbour and sea from Upstairs. The bar and pool are owned by/ run separately from the hotel and the food / drinks were lovely. Pool immaculately clean and maintained. Overall, a relaxing short stay (if you overlook the tiredness of our apartment)"

Avra Imperial Hotel ★★★★★
"We stayed in a deluxe suite with a pool for 7 days. The room was somewhat run-down and felt quite old, unlike the photos online. Cleanliness was also subpar, likely due to the room's age. For example, there was mold in the grout between the bathroom sink and surrounding tiles, and the floor was cracked and always felt dirty. The sofa was white but very dirty, with faded colors and grime. The room's soundproofing was poor; we could hear conversations from upstairs in the bathroom. Furthermore, although the hotel advertised an all-inclusive package, they were very strict about bottled water and meal times. Each person was only allowed one bottle of water at a time, and it wasn't delivered; we had to get it ourselves from the bar. We were rushed around for meals if it was even slightly late, and the staff became quite rude. We had a small baby traveling with us, and although we requested a crib during booking and reminded the hotel via WhatsApp, there was no crib in the room. We waited over an hour after check-in before an extra crib was provided, disrupting the baby's sleep. In short, our experience with the hotel was subpar; the facilities, cleanliness, and service were not worth it."

"We loved the place, the food was excellent, the room good size, close to the beach, clean and pleasant atmosphere. There is a monastery called the Mother of God Odigitria Gonia close to the hotel very worth visiting.Would like to urge anyone who is visiting to feed and give some water to the homeless cats there, some of those poor creatures have been injured by humans and need castration, they live on the right when you leave the hotel."

"We spent a week at the While Pear Solimar hotel and I will remember this week with real pleasure. We wanted a place that would be quiet, pleasant, clean, where we could relax. That's exactly what happened. I must note that this was facilitated not only by the fact that the hotel is for adults only, but also by the fact that the season was getting started and attractions in the form of animations were to start only after a few days, which suited us very, very well. The rooms are quite small (at least ours, but it was ok) with a balcony both cleaned well everyday. Towels are replaced, bottles of water and tea are added every day as well (there was a kettle in the room). The hotel is right by the sea, which is extremely pleasant because of the views. Hotel jest dobrze zaplanowany architektonicznie, otoczenie jest ładne i zadbane. There are sun loungers by the pool and also on the beach (although there are fewer of them). The food fresh and varied, of course olives and feta cheese are very tasty, excellent Greek desserts ( the creteanian orange cake is wonderful!). The only thing I would like to have differently is the coffee/tea situation at lunch and dinner. I like having my dessert with a cup of coffee and the fact it was only available at the bar (where the food from a restaurant is not allowed) not in a restaurant was a bit annoying. The staff is very kind, helpful and I felt they care about the guests and maintaining this place with the best standard they can.Keep it up ! My special thanks to Maitre D’hotel, Mr Sifis and everyone working at the restaurant and at the bar – always kind, helpful, attentive, communicative and smiley. We appreciate this level of hospitality. Thank you and all the best ! We will certainly recommend this hotel to our family, friends and acquaintances."
