Calcutta Bungalow

Staying at Calcatta Bungalow was truly one of the most blissful experiences of my life. ✨ Calcutta has always been my dream city — a city I had imagined through all my poetry, fantasies, and little dreams. And getting to stay here, all by myself, made it even more special. There was something so peaceful and beautiful about experiencing my dream city solo. 🤍 Thank you, dear Hemant, for being such a wonderful friend, for all your support, and for capturing these beautiful, special moments for me. 📸✨

Calcutta Bunglow situated at the very heart of the city, very near to major rail stations and the airport, yet on a quiet road. The interiors resembles an old kolkata house, with very approprite vintage furnitures and decorations. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Staffs are very courteous and takes care of the guests to a point of no complaints. It is a love at first sight property, and you will cherish your memories of stay.

I was on an extended work trip with long days criss-crossing the city for meetings. I chose Calcutta Bungalow for its location and ambience (Shyambazaar!), beautifully conserved spaces, and the promise of great service. And did they deliver! I got to know many of the staff — so no shout outs here, but every one of them was terrific— warm, helpful, efficient. The food is very good and the tea and coffee keep coming. They also run Calcutta Walks (also great and highly recommended). I had a lovely stay —

Our stay at Calcutta Bungalow was absolutely delightful from start to finish. The house itself is a magnificent historic property, lovingly maintained and filled with charm. The overall atmosphere is elegant yet relaxed, with a very distinctive character that makes the stay feel special and memorable. One of the highlights for us was the food. Everything we tasted was beautifully prepared and full of authentic flavour. What truly sets Calcutta Bungalow apart, however, is the warmth and dedication of the team. Every member of staff was welcoming and attentive, creating a genuine sense of care throughout our visit. We would like to give particular recognition to Wasim, who was extraordinary. After we lost a phone, he went out of his way to support us, assisting with every step of the process, including helping us liaise with the police. His kindness and commitment were far beyond what we could have expected. Calcutta Bungalow is a very special place that combines history, comfort, and exceptional hospitality. A ten star experience, we would return without hesitation.

Wow - what a place, what an experience and what a wonderful team of people who made sure I had a really great stay at Calcutta Bungalow. A huge shout out to Shweta and the team! A stunningly beautiful building that has been lovingly restored in North Calcutta and just moments away from the metro giving one says access to the city. A big draw card for me was the walking tours with exceptional guides who over 4 mornings gave me amazing insight into the different parts of this beautiful city. Calcutta Bungalow is my home away from home - small touches in place to ensure my stay was just perfect! Beautiful rooms in this 3 storied building with a wonderful roof top cafe/restaurant with views across the city. Highly recommend; I know that I will stay there again!

We loved this gorgeous little hotel in Calcutta. Each room has been beautifully designed around a story to do with the area. The staff are delightful, partially Hemant who couldn’t have done more to make our stay comfortable.

I've stayed in some nice hotels over the years but nothing quite compares to Calcutta Bungalow. It has an atmosphere like no other. You could think that you have stepped back in time to the 1920s. You could imagine sitting down to tea with Rudyard Kipling. The rooftop restaurant is lovely and the staff cannot do enough for you. A total delight. Clean, comfortable and wonderful. Built was back in 1926. A delight.
