"Kalamota Beach House in early May was the perfect getaway place for our holiday. The suite was airy, spacious, well maintained with a great balcony from which to hear the sea lapping and watch fishing boats in the small harbour. The staff without exception were really friendly, helpful and professional. On the quieter side of the island it is an easy 30 min walk across to the busier main port where there is a small shop and two bars. On other lovely walks on rockier paths there are amazing views and a stunning natural wild flower meadow. Sturdy footwear recommended for these routes."

"The place is beautiful and the island is magical. We stayed for six nights. The room and bathroom weren't cleaned at all during our stay. In the shared kitchen, the bin was only emptied once, and it was emitting a terrible smell. To top it all off, while I was cooking an eggplant with olive oil, the German owner burst into the kitchen yelling "Es stinkt!" (It stinks!) and slammed the door! On the day of our departure, with our flight at 8:30 PM, and seeing that all three rooms were free, we asked if it would be possible to keep the room until 3:00 PM. The owner, who didn't speak a word of English, told us that the room had to be vacated by 10:00 AM. After some discussion, she agreed to give us more time. When we returned from the beach at 1:30 PM, she told us to get out. We offered to pay her for an extra day, but she wouldn't hear of it and threatened to call the police, yelling ""
