Smile Hotel Koriyama

The room was clean, had the bare minimum of amenities, and was clean enough for just a short stay. There's a convenience store nearby, and there's an electric kettle and microwave, so I don't think it would be too inconvenient even for a slightly longer stay. There was Wi-Fi, but the room was a little dark, so it might be a bit inconvenient for working at night.

I added the breakfast buffet. I drank too much the night before, so I couldn't eat much, but the rice from Fukushima Prefecture was chewy and delicious. Also, I was very satisfied with the pleasant service I received from the hotel staff at the breakfast corner on the 5th floor. I will definitely stay here again.

The hotel is located a short distance from the station (about a 20-minute walk). The free breakfast served in the morning is convenient to eat as it features a variety of side dishes.

While it's understandable that the building is old and the facilities aren't great, the toilet lid was broken and the place didn't feel clean at all. I also paid nearly 1000 yen for breakfast, but it was disappointing. It consisted of what seemed like frozen meatballs and fish, greasy blanched vegetables, smelly rice, and no fruit – the worst breakfast buffet I've ever had. Honestly, I felt I would have been better off buying something from the convenience store next door.

I stayed here on a business trip. While it shows its age a little, the room was clean. The air conditioning worked well. In my room, the bathroom door was slightly misaligned, making a loud noise when opening and closing it. However, overall I was satisfied. I slept well. There's a 7-Eleven nearby, which is very convenient. There's also a parking lot right behind the hotel, which is handy.
