Visiting Kardamena on a short business trip and found the rudeness of the receptionist when trying to book a room on another level. To acknowledge myself from the start would have been appreciated. Not something I've come accustomed to on my travels through Greece through business and family holidays, Found first class treatment at Agiri hotels close by .

The rooms were cleaned daily and very thoroughly – towels, bed linen, and toilet paper were replaced regularly. The air conditioning worked perfectly. A big downside was the lack of water on the 3rd floor in the afternoons – especially inconvenient when coming back from the beach. The view of the port from the room was a big plus. The hotel and dining area were clean. Staff: The Greek reception staff were very kind and helpful. Unfortunately, the Polish woman working at reception was very unpleasant and unfriendly. The kitchen staff, waiters, and bartenders were all wonderful and very polite. Food: Quite poor overall. Breakfasts were monotonous (mainly hard-boiled eggs, sausages, toast with a cheese-like spread, no fresh fruit or vegetables). Cold cuts and cheeses were inedible. Lunches and dinners were repetitive – mostly overcooked chicken in various sauces. Soups were fine, desserts average. Snacks between meals were just reheated leftovers from breakfast. Beach: Close by and sandy, but the seabed is full of rocks – water shoes are a must. Sunbeds on the beach were for an extra fee, which was disappointing. They should be included for hotel guests. Too few sunbeds by the pool – people rushed to reserve them as soon as it opened. The pool itself was hardly usable – way too much chlorine, which caused skin irritation that required treatment. Summary: The hotel is clean and most of the staff are very nice (except for the Polish receptionist). However, the food and overall comfort, especially the pool, need serious improvement. We won’t be coming back.

The hotel is stretched 3 stars. The rooms are poor (not like the advertised ones), the bathrooms are awful - immediately after entering the room for the first time we were hit by a strong stench from the sewerage system which disappeared after 2 days, microscopic bathroom with microscopic shower with microscopic glass so the bathroom is flooded after each shower, no place to hang the handset so you have to hold it constantly. The food is edible but very monotonous. Leftovers from breakfast are used as snacks during the day or as dishes for lunch and dinner. Hard bread happened a few times. Drinks are ok, not too much alcohol in them, once they ran out of mix for pina colada they did not refill it, the drink was crossed off the list and it was the 3rd day of stay out of 7. Once a week there is a Greek themed evening, two gentlemen come and play nice music on instruments where people can have fun dancing. NOT ENOUGH SUNBEDS BY THE POOL!!! Only 20 of them despite the space to have more and people are lining up and reserve the spots by the pool before it’s even "allowed" so good luck getting one. The common bathroom near the reception and the pool is DISGUSTING, so just go to your room to do the business. The location of the hotel is great, close to everything and right on the beach. Pebble/gravel beach with big slimy rocks in the water, so swimming shoes are a must. Despite all the drawbacks, I would probably go back there, we had a wonderful 7 day vacation (we were sightseeing and traveling a lot) (4 people aged 22-24). Ps. we were happy with our kitty visitor :)

Horror holidays, we got accommodation in separate dilapidated building that's not even 1 star, door to balcony did not close, rude staff and countless excuses, I know I booked 3 star accommodation but that was below and disgusting with bugs crawling around and sleepless nights with broken door barricaded for night with what not, never again,

I spent a two-week holiday with my family in this hotel and I can highly recommend this hotel. the hotel's location on the beach with clear water and a gentle entrance. A few steps to the center of Kardamena. The rooms were clean and frequently cleaned every other day, the only thing missing in the room was cabinets for clothes, but it was bearable. The food was fresh and delicious. Typical Greek dishes. Mrs. Lily on the bar deserves special mention (greetings from one-year-old Juli).

The rooms in the hotel were not as advertised. We booked through Love Holidays and the photos on the website show the updated, main building.... no mention of a separate building, which was very old and dilapidated. There are lots of photos on previous reviews of the very basic and tired rooms, but I've added some of the outside. The sunbed situation at the hotel is ridiculous. A few sunbeds round the pool or you have to pay to use hotel beds on the beach. I asked at reception about it and said there was nowhere to sit - and he literally shrugged his shoulders!! We bought lilos to sit on. Although we found a brilliant beach bar which was walking distance to hotel called Ammos - highly recommended. The food was OK. The location is fantastic in terms of distance to beach and bars etc.

This hotel was pretty awful. We stayed for a week at the end of August/start of September. We got home yesterday. We knew we had booked a 3 star so we’re not expecting anything amazing but what we turned up to was not at all what had been advertised. We did not feel safe our whole trip, we even took our passports, wallets and anything of any value with us everywhere we went including to the sunbeds. 1) I will add a picture of the advertised rooms and what we got. The bathroom didn’t even have a shower head that fit on the wall holder or a shower curtain. There was absolutely nothing in the rooms, no iron, hair dryer, nothing. 2)The reception staff were extremely rude, sometimes I understand this can be a languages barrier but in this case they were rude. 3) we arrived on Wednesday and our room didn’t get cleaned until Monday. This meant we got no fresh towels or bedding until then. 4) The food. We booked all inclusive and it was far from it. It was a tiny tiny selection of food and the exact same for lunch and dinner for each day that we stayed. Very plain, bread, plain pasta and an option to add a tomato sauce and chips. It states that there are snack times between lunch and dinner but there was nothing. A few nights we decided after walking into the ‘restaurant’ and being put off to even eat out. 5) ANTS. Our room was ant infested. They were everywhere (picture attached of the bedside table) 6) Sunbeds - they had around 18 sunbeds by the only small pool and the sun beds on the beach were £10 per day. The only positive from this hotel was its location. I would never return.

Discrepancies stated in Itaka's advertisement and reality: Hotel 3*, Itaka's advertisement states 3.5*. Beach towels are not for a deposit, only 10eur rental (non-refundable). The positive aspects are the location, proximity to the airport, beach and great water, friendly service.
