Hotels near Atkinson Clock Tower in Kota Kinabalu

The hotel is located at the city centre, you can easily to find food and supermarkets by just walking distance. The morning breakfast cafe is full of guests during my stay, not easy to find a seat and breakfast full of variety choices but mostly repeat the same foods. Room cleaning can be improved especially the room carpet look bit dusty but the hotel provided the look slippers to wear in room that’s fine with me. One last thing, the hotel management should change the bath towel to new one as it look unpleasant for guests to use.

An excellent stay again. Reception are friendly and helpful. Room are extremely Clean. I love my room. Important thing is this hotel room toilet using WATER SPRAY (MUSLIM FRIENDLY). This hotel is attached to shopping mall. Convenient. Many eateries too. Breakfast have many choices to fill your empty stomach. This restaurant coffee are excellent. ONE IMPROVEMENT NEEDED : Hope they will consider serving fruits too during breakfast.

I recently stayed at Mercure Kota Kinabalu, and my overall experience was a mixture of positives and negatives. The hotel's ambiance and service were generally acceptable, but a couple of aspects left me with a less than perfect impression. On the positive side, the room, although not the promised city view, was comfortable and well-maintained. The amenities provided were standard and met our basic needs for a short stay. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful, adding a pleasant touch to our overall experience. However, one notable drawback was the discrepancy in the room description. Despite being assured of a city view, we were assigned a room overlooking the opposite facing the busy road. While this may seem like a minor issue, it did impact our overall satisfaction, as the promise of a particular view was one of the factors influencing our choice. Another inconvenience was the lack of dedicated parking facilities at the hotel. This meant that my husband had to purchase parking coupons daily, adding an unexpected expense to our stay. Moreover, the strict enforcement of parking regulations by 8 am posed a challenge, especially for guests who preferred to start their day later. In conclusion, Mercure Kota Kinabalu is a decent choice for a short stay, offering comfortable accommodations and friendly service. However, potential guests should be aware of potential discrepancies in room assignments and the absence of on-site parking facilities, which may affect the overall convenience and cost of their stay.

Spacious rooms worth with the price. Fine customers service. Locations is good easy to find near to tanjung aru beach just for few minutes drive, and got supermarket, restaurants and laundry outside the hotel. If you come with car, don’t have to worry about parking. Water heater and glass/cup provided in the room, but I think you have to bring your own 3in1 drink as our room doesn’t provide it😅.. To iron clothes you have to go outside the room. Washroom is clean, shower for water heater works great! But, there is yellow stain on toilet seat. The room door is a bit noisy when it close by itself. We received complaints from people in other room, and the workers come to us telling us to close the doors slowly, but don’t think it’s our fault because the door is automatically closed and felt a bit heavy when we tried to stop it, iykyk 🤣. But overall, worth for price!

The location is strategic . Parking lot is ample enough. The room is comfortable. The food at the restaurant is pleasant

We spent 3 nights at Gaya Island Resort and had a great time, I thought I would write a review because there are a few things worth considering before you go. Firstly, the place itself is amazing, the staff are super friendly and caring - probably the most professional I have ever experienced in my many years of travelling. So all in all it was a wonderful stay. The things worth noting are as follows: 1. The sunbeds, I think may have mentioned it and it's worth mentioning again - there are nowhere near enough. When you pay and arm and a leg to stay at a beautiful resort it is annoying that they haven't found a way to add more sunbeds. People get there early, throw on their towels and stay or disappear and the seat is gone for the day. This is a solvable issue and the resort should so something about it. 2. Check in is after 3 - could be later - and it's not flexible, so if you are arriving earlier be prepared to sit around waiting for your room. It would be nice if they could flex a little as waiting hours for a room without your bags is not a joy, but it is what it is. 3. Eating - you are on the resort, so you are eating in one of their restaurants - no other options available. There are a few restaurants so not really a problem (we did the hot pot restaurant and it was great), but good to be aware. By far the most expensive places we ate in Malaysia, but I guess given the quality of the resort it wasn't a surprise and the main restaurant is reasonable enough. 4. Activities - my wife and daughter did the cooking class and loved it, we did the night walk - which was fun and me and my son did the coral garden. The Coral garden was fun and I was lucky to see a big old shark. However there is a large amount of plastic floating on the surface of the water that is quite concerning and makes the whole place not feel so clean. The corals and fish look healthy so may be fine, but be prepared to swim through bottles and crisp bags to see the fish. The local resorts and local authorities should really work together to resolve and you pay the tourist tax, so not sure where that's going, but not to plastic clearance by the look of it. Hope that's helpful. all in all, it's a beautiful place to stay, could just do with a tweak here and there to make it even better

Overall our 2-night stay at Hyatt Centric KK was comfy n relaxing. The lobby n top floor lounge ambience is excellent~feeling of calmness. Rooms are spacious n clean with beautiful sunset seaview. We especially like the bathroom with sitting bench~ a considerate design for guests who prefer to sit n shower. Restaurant staff were very well-mannered n helpful. The hotel is well located just opposite the Sabah Suria shopping mall, so it's very convenient if you wish to dine out or shop around…

Very disappointed..I don't know why you staff say the remote tv gone.!!!!then I loose my deposit RM50,,,for those bastard staff,,if U want took d RM50,just let me know and don't claim or charged me like a thief to stole U remote tv... Just let those person who check my room that time,,I won't let U go so easily...”berani buat berani tanggung,tolong jangan menyesal...”

Hotel is nice, clean and have good amenities. The room is clean, though not new, but all amenities are working fine. The bed is comfortable and comes with 2 pillows each. The room even has a study table. We use it as a dining table instead. The room has a unique toilet. The shower and toilet bowl is separated having a door each and next to each other. Also, the wall and door of the toilet can slide fully open exposing the sink and the doors of shower and toilet bowl. You can just slide to close everything if you want privacy. The hotel staffs are nice too and attend to your request promptly. I requested for extra pillow and they sent it within a few minutes. The breakfast was also good and delicious. They have a wide variety of dishes from local, western, Indian, Chinese. Though everyday is similar but they change certain dishes such as from fried noodle to fried kuey tiow, fried rice to nasi lemak, etc. The hotel is also close to the waterfront, eating places and walking distance to Suria Sabah shopping centre. Overall, a good hotel to stay in.
