Great location and friendly, excellent service from the staff! For around RM28 a night, you really can't complain, you get what you pay for. Cleanliness and amenities are just average, but it's a decent, budget-friendly spot if you just need a place to crash for the night. Recommended for backpackers and solo travelers on a tight budget.

The hotel is conveniently located close to the bustling downtown area. The facilities are very clean and well-maintained, creating a comfortable atmosphere. The staff were all very kind and helpful.

Hi Singnel Hostel, I only stayed for about 2 hours last night while waiting for my flight. The place was very comfortable and satisfactory for someone like me looking for temporary accommodation. I didn't expect such good satisfaction for such a cheap price, especially for budget travelers like me. Besides that, the hostel also provides lockers for personal belongings for safety. The atmosphere is neat and comfortable, and there are curtains for privacy, haha. Thank you, Singnel Hostel! And thanks to the guy at the reception last night too.

Great value for budget travelers! Signel Hostel is very affordable and the rooms are very clean. The staff are super polite, friendly, and helpful. I really appreciated the bed setups—each comes with a personal reading light, a power outlet, a small shelf, and even a few clothes hangers, which was a very thoughtful touch! A few practical things to note before booking: There is no elevator, so carrying heavy luggage up the stairs can be challenging. The bathroom facilities are a bit old, limited in number, and the shower area is unisex/shared for both men and women. Overall, considering the cheap price, cleanliness, and wonderful hospitality, it’s still fantastic value for money!

Cheap with pleasant stay. Good location and easy to find near Jalan Sinsuran Kota Kinabalu. A lot of eateries nearby as well as Sinsuran night market and Centre Point Mal

It was great! I stayed in a dormitory. There were curtains for privacy, so I could have my own space.

It's within walking distance to all the fun things in KK, the tourist office, the town centre, the famous foodie street Gaya, the ferry pier, the night food market, the fruit and vegetable day market, the exotic fish market. And most importantly, the minibus station for the next destination. Norica, the lady staff at Signel hostel was really one of the most helpful person I have ever met. Her English is excellent and her calm explanations and information were really useful for a traveller. She helped me connect to my next destination. The hostel also has a place for drying a small amount of laundry if that was needed.

The front desk staff were all very warm and engaging. Despite the cramped space, it had a unique charm. The common area could use a slightly larger square table, which would be more convenient for using laptops. Overall, it was impeccable. I have to emphasize again that the front desk was truly warm and engaging!

My trip to Kota Kinabalu was unplanned and I bought my tickets only two days before flying. With such a last minute plan, I decided not to spend much on accommodation. I looked through a few hostel options online and this one stood out mainly because of its central location, so I went ahead and booked it. The hostel is very easy to locate. Just follow the signs and you will find it without any issue. It is on the first floor, which means you only need to go one level up from the ground. When I arrived, the staff were friendly and check in was fast. The same can be said about check out. Everything was simple. The bed was okay and quite standard for hostel stays. My bed was comfortable enough, had a window and came with a charging port which made things convenient. The bathroom was also fine. I only wish guests, especially ladies, would throw their hair into the dustbin instead of leaving it on the wall. It would make the bathroom nicer for everyone. All in all, it was a reasonable stay and matched what I expected for the price. Everything was generally good and okay.

My stay has been so perfect. From the receptionists’ hospitality to the cleanliness. Everything is put into order and they ensure guests’ safety. I loved it!
