The service is very good yyds. There are morning classes in the morning and bathing in the evening. Shojin cuisine is excellent. The library is also very good. The courtyard outside the library is also very beautiful at night. I hope to stay here next time I come to Koyasan👍🏻

The Koyasan temple dormitory has monks' morning classes, which is solemn. The included dinner and breakfast are excellent, and the service in all aspects is very good. I can't say much, and I highly recommend it.

My first time at Shukubo, Fudoin was a very good experience. Fudo-in was built in 906 to enshrine King Fudo Myoto. Emperor Toba and Empress Toba of the Heian period are buried here. Currently there are 14 rooms, 3 room types, 4 without bathroom, 8 with bathroom, and 2 with both bathroom. This time I stayed in a room with a bathroom. The room was comfortable and clean. The public bathroom experience is also very good. The breakfast and dinner were very good. They were in a beautiful and elegant room. The dining location and meals were arranged in advance, and the waiters would come to the room to guide them. Many shukubo in Koyasan are facing the street. This hospital is not facing the street. It is quiet and unique. It can be reached by walking a short distance from the bus station.

It is said to be the imperial residence of Emperor Toba and Empress. It has a beautiful environment and the hardware is new and clean. The location is good, in the middle, you can walk to major attractions in ten minutes. There is a short uphill walk to get off the bus. I booked a Japanese-style room with a bathroom. I stayed in a room on the second floor. There was a small entrance hall, a sink, and a small bathroom at the entrance. It's very cold in Mount Koya in winter. With the air conditioner and heating on, the room is very warm. The breakfast and dinner of Shojin cuisine are very sumptuous. In the morning class, the master will lead the chanting of sutras and incense, as well as Azi Temple meditation. If you want to participate in the fire offering, you need to make reservations at other temples. There are dedicated people who come to the room to take meals and morning classes, and the service is very considerate. I’ll come back next time during the red leaf season.

This was easily the most luxurious of the places we stayed in on our Japan trip, and it wasn't just because it's the price. (We arrived in the peak autumn season when the colours were at their best.) The rooms were spotlessly clean, and equipped with a toilet, the bath was excellent and the vegetarian meals delicious. The service was friendly and we could check in early. The morning service was conducted in English by the Chief Priest, and being my first formal meditation experience, i liked it as well as the chanting. Explanations are given on an electronic screen. The grounds were beautiful, with a koi fish pond, shrine and deciduous trees. I would stay again, but perhaps, given the prices, choose off peak, or book well in advance.

Fudoin is located up a slop diagonally across from the Burmese temple (Rangedani bus stop). Slop is pebbly and might be challenging for regular luggage on wheels. Reception is professional. Room is good. Meals adequate. Morning prayer solemn.

Lovely one-night stay at Fudo-in temple. Very comfortable rooms (with their own bathrooms); quiet place with a reasonable number of guests. Peaceful setting, well maintained temple and grounds. Enjoyed the hot baths. As in other temples in Koya san, vegetarian meals (very enjoyable). The head monk spoke a really good English. The morning religious service was a really good experience (it helped the monk could provide some English language explanations on the side!) and not to be skipped.

Room - we opted for the Junior suite which came with attached bathroom and a huge tub. We were pleasantly surprised by the size of the room and had a wonderful view of the garden. Location - easy 2 min walk from the bus stop Food - we were served dinner in a beautiful private room. We are not vegetarians but we really love the food. We had breakfast in a dining hall - wonderfully decorated. Again, breakfast was simple but delicious. They speak simple English and if needed, there is always Google Translate. Glad to have had our first temple stay experience in Fudoin. Would gladly stay here again.

After spending two hours getting to the temple from Namba, it was refreshing to absorb the peace and tranquility of the place. The place is just a short walk up a slight slope from the bus stop where we got off. Check-in was smooth with good explanation on the place and the facilities. Place was spotless and they ensured that by helping to clean the wheels of our luggage. Room is of ample size for four of us in a traditional setting sleeping on tatami mats. A toilet is attached to my room but the bathing facilities is a sharing facility which was clean and spacious. Dinner and breakfast were superb vegetarian meals. We also had a great experience with the morning prayers which also taught us a meditation method. This place is within easy walking distance to the small town center with restaurants for lunch. Bus schedule to other places are posted on the bus stops. Overall, we had a peaceful stay here which was a good break from the hustle of the big cities.

Excellent one-night experience in a Buddhist temple, although hotel-oriented. The room was clean, Japanese style, with a western pillow, not rice. No shower in the room but a sink, the bathrooms are shared, single-sex, with a hot water basin, very clean, but without outside. The vegan meal, according to Buddhist practices, was slightly westernized, it was perfect and allowed you to eat while discovering. Morning prayer allows you to practice meditation. It is possible to consume local sake and wine during the evening meal.
