Sugar Marina Hotel Cliffhanger Aonang Reviews

We returned to this hotel for the second time and stayed for three days. Initially, we were given a deluxe room located at the back of the hotel, with a forest view. Unfortunately, the air in that room felt heavy and there was a noticeable smell of damp and mold, so we requested a room change. The staff responded to our request and we were moved to room 2510, which we highly recommend. The room offered a beautiful view of both the mountains and the sea, was very clean, and the towels were changed daily. The breakfast was very good, with a wide variety of dishes to choose from. Overall, after changing the room, our experience was very good and we enjoyed our time at the hotel.

Our stay at Sugar Marina Hotel was fantastic! We were kindly greeted by Hunna and Ar with some pineapple juice to refresh us from the heat outside. They were able to get us a room ready well before our check-in time (arrived at 10 and check-in was 2) at no extra cost which we really appreciated! The rooms were super clean, we’re very thorough checking for bugs and we did not find any and in fact were very pleased that the mattresses looked brand new (they never usually are at hotels) and even the underside of the bed was immaculate. We had the king size room with pool and cliff view, it was amazing! Such a treat to be able to just come out of your room and have the pool plus the limestone greeting you. They lend you indoor slippers, robes, and even a large beach mat. The location is also prime imo. You have all the restaurants, shops and the beach/port nearby and most of our tours picked us up from here. You have the cleanest laundry with a coffee shop right next door which is super convenient if you’re planning to wash clothes like we did. In terms of noise levels, I was travelling with my partner who’s a very light sleeper and he was able to sleep soundly every night so that was also a 10. All round I think this was one of the top hotels we’ve stayed in.

This hotel has a lot of potential but it is run down and is not being up kept. The only positive is the great breakfast that they offer. I also received bites along my arm that look to be bed bugs, and when I brought it to the staffs attention, all they said was sorry. Not great service.

Everything was great! Location wise it was located quite nearby the beach and street stores.

Welcoming drinks while waiting for 3pm check in. Luggage room available. 2 swimming pools. Decent breakfast. Spacious room. No toothbrush but 7-11 nearby! Oh no. Water heater fluctuates from cold to hot and back to cold.

Gorgeous room with bathtub, worth the upgrade. Cliff views are unbeatable and even can see the ocean. Great location our hotel was above tour booking, massage and nail salon. We used them all easily :)

A little bit of a walk up a hill to the main building (two hotel buildings), but that walk provides a lovely view. Really enjoyed our stay here. Breakfast was a highlight.

Nice experience in Krabi! Hotel was strategic and many food stalls and restaurants nearby. Definitely will come back. All the requirements are provided but I request to do like Honeymoon/Couple as I celebrating Birthday and Honeymoon, nothing was prepared 🙁 Otherwise it’s good 😊

The place itself is super nice, service is really good and stuff helpful. If you want to have sun in the pool - you need to pick the room in the building with the reception desk- I think they are deluxe? In the second building room with the pool has no sun till around 14, so is better to go to the second building. If you travel with some big suitcase- there is no problem/ you can ask at the reception and driver took my suitcase by car down to the second building and after check out he took it again to the storage room. From the areas for improvement- I didn’t see any toilet at the pool at 2nd floor. And I know people have different tastes but this coffee on breakfast is just awful, was burned and taste was so bad that I had to buy some coffee outside, the rest is really nice. Going down next to the reception is quite annoying. Beach is on the walking distance- aprox 15 min, all bars, restaurants, laundries etc are just behind the corner. Probably I will come back, thank you for making my stay so comfortable 💜

Housekeeping was always late, they didn’t clean well. The location of the pool rooms was weird. The hotel room is not soundproof you can hear anyone walking and talking in the hallways, construction around the hotel. We had to carry our own luggage up the hill to the lobby when we arrived. There’s no help from the entrance of the hotel. Pool side rooms are opposite the laundry area which makes it nosier and crowded in the hallways. Generally wasn’t happy with the hotel. Anyone and everyone could just walk into the hotel entrance which triggers safety concerns.

Nice room, comfortable bed, and pillows. Balcony with view of pool and roof tops to town centre. I was in the rear building that has a quite steep ramp to reception. It is walkable to town centre and beach. But I moved closer later, rather than walking every day. No transport provided by hotel but you call taxi if required.

Stayed one night check in was prompt and efficient. Our room was on third floor of building nearest thectiad- room was nice comfortable bed and nice shower. Small balcony looking into the pool. Too few sunbeds at the pool for size of hotel only 7 on the sun terrace and the chairs were metal with no cushions so unable to be used. Breakfast was buffet style - quality of food wasn’t great and hot food was cold. Egg station was good as was the fresh fruit and yoghurt. Our room had an adjoining door in it and the noise from next door was loud due to this, poor breakfast abd the lack of sunbeds I wouldn’t recommend this hotel.
