Overall service was excellent! Stayed at this hotel for 5 nights and they cleaned our room every day. This trip was meant to celebrate my wife's birthday and the hotel gave us a complimentary cake and decorated the room with some balloons. Thanks for welcoming us with the gift! There is also a medium-sized gym that opens 24hrs and a rooftop bar that has an unblocked view of the Menara KL Tower!

My cousin and I booked two rooms and stayed for four nights. Let's start with my room: on the first day, I found a lot of ants 🐜 in the room. I requested a room change, and they moved me to a room right next to the highway. I spent the whole night listening to cars zipping by and motorcycles honking, so I didn't get any sleep 🤣. On the second day, I had to request another room change, further away from the highway, before I finally settled in.
Now, about my cousin's room: it was freezing cold, even with the air conditioning off. My niece had to stay bundled up in a blanket. After two nights, my cousin finally mentioned how cold it was. We strongly insisted on another room change. A hotel staff member came to feel the room's temperature and then found an empty room for them to move into. After the move, it wasn't cold anymore. A few days later, I was chatting with a Grab driver about the E&O Hotel Penang****, and when my cousin overheard, she finally felt brave enough to tell me, a materialist, that in that freezing cold room at the E&O for the first two nights, she had seen a ghost—a white person.
I also heard from a day tour guide that the hotel's portico had been blown down by a strong wind just a few days before we arrived, which is why it was temporarily replaced with the rather ungenerous-looking one it has now.
The breakfast was just okay. Even though it's a Chinese-owned hotel, the foreign workers tended to assign people who looked Chinese to corner tables or dark, out-of-the-way tables. I could never understand why even brown-skinned people would discriminate against Chinese people.
The only thing worth praising was the front desk lady who spoke Chinese, though I'm not sure if she was an intern. She was enthusiastic and provided excellent service, allowing us to check in early.
