Very nice hotel near Kumamoto’s castle. The rooms are quite small but clean and quiet

It’s more for japanese travelers since I’m not sure if stuff knows English (we communicated in japanese). Interior feels old, and the big bath is nothing fancy, but hospitality is superb! Great breakfast.

The staff were extremely helpful and friendly, and the location was also very convenient, with easy access to many stores as well as public transportation. I would definitely stay there again.

Perfect

I went with my mom. The location was perfect, and the accommodation had a unique atmosphere. The room was larger than most hotels, and there was a table in the room, so we could comfortably enjoy beer and other snacks. We used the large public bath, and the water was wonderful. After a long walk, soaking in the warm water made me feel much less tired the next day. The breakfast was also very satisfying.

The location is excellent, with a shopping street just around the corner and Kumamoto Castle and the Kumamoto Minister's Office within walking distance. The hotel staff were friendly and courteous, even accepting Amazon packages. Excellent service!

The hotel has a vintage feel and a very retro decor, but the hygiene is terrible. The pillows and comforters were yellowed and stained, and there was a musty smell in the room. Aside from the location, everything else is awful. Choose carefully.

There is no parking in the hotel. Go to the public parking lot. Once I checked in I thought I had paid via trip.com and it turned out that I ended up paying immediately when I checked in. But the staff attitude was rude and I was a little unhappy. There is no water in the room nothing special. The bed was too old and I turned around when I slept. Some didn't sleep well all night. For $1400 a night you can have other options. But the location is good and convenient.

The public bath was not crowded and everyone was friendly.

There were tatami areas and we could watch YouTube or whatever on the TV. It was a very relaxing trip! The front desk staff were also very kind. I'd like to stay here again.

We were on a family trip with my mother and sister who have trouble walking, so the hotel was in a great location for strolling around the arcade.

We chose to stay at this ryokan from Sunday to Tuesday. It is located in an alley next to Kumamoto Castle Kamidori Shopping Street, which is really convenient! Breakfast also allows me to taste various delicacies from the Kyushu region. It is carefully prepared, but the bathroom equipment may be a bit old due to its long history, but the cleanliness is OK! The bathing space is also very clean and comfortable! Every staff member in the hotel is so polite and considerate! This is a very different place to stay in a business hotel🥰

6/F The large public bath is large and clean. It is open until 00:00 in the evening. There are very few people there around 10 pm. My little daughter went to the large public bath with me for the first time when she was 3 years old and she never tired of it. A waterproof Tatami floor mat is laid on the ground floor to prevent slipping. This quaint hotel is located in the center of Kumamoto. There are many restaurants nearby, it is convenient for shopping, and there is a large public bath. The room is very spacious, and it is very comfortable for a family of three. I will stay here again next time I visit Kumamoto.

I had a good day's rest in a traditional Japanese accommodation rather than a modern one. Pros: The location of the accommodation is very good. You can walk to Kumamoto Castle for sightseeing, and since it's in the middle of a shopping street, you can do almost everything on foot. I was able to relieve my fatigue in the large public bath attached to the accommodation and had a delicious breakfast. The hotel staff's hospitality was very friendly and professional. Cons: The hotel felt a bit old.~^^
