Ktdc Water Scapes

A great waterfront resort - overlooking the large 'backwater' Vembanad lake. They have multiple villas all on stilts. The villas in front are close to the water... you can sit on your balcony and look out at the expanse of the lake. Very peaceful unless there is some wedding or function taking place. Food is good. The do provide Been and Wine at one of the halls, but not at other places. There is a bird sanctuary next to it. Boating can be arranged by the resort. Rooms are clean and well maintained and value for money

It is a lovely complex of bungalows. we stayed in the rooms on overlooking the backwaters it was a room with view in a true sense of the term. Food was excellent and on saturday we had a special dietary requirement which was provided. Service was execellent.

Loved the property...very expansive and rooms are really nice. The only reason I am not giving it a 5-star is that the restaurant is not fully equipped to give you a speedy service. For all meals, we were asked to wait an inordinate amount of time for 'a la carte' options and then pushed to take buffet. The fact that they are ready to negotiate on the buffet prices in each case, further shows that this is a common practice.

A very well run resort by ktdc which can match any privately run started resort in location area and reasonably priced dinner Staff is very friendly with Ms Deepa at reception standing out A lake view cottage is well worth the extra money spent

Natural ambience is so beautiful . A must visit place with family as there is lot of incomparable things - bird sanctuary, boating etc

My stay at KTDC Waterscapes was a delightful surprise. Opting for a last-minute family getaway, we were thrilled by the experience. The property boasts a scenic location—easily accessible from the main road yet peacefully removed from the hustle and bustle, offering a stunning view of the majestic Vembanad Lake. The cottages were impressive, equipped with amenities comparable to a star hotel. The food was delicious, and the Abhyangam massage was incredibly relaxing. The staff was very welcoming, as was the natural setting. An early morning walk through the bird sanctuary was particularly serene. I would definitely visit again and highly recommend it!

Waterscapes, a picturesque resort on Vembanad lake amidst serene waterways, about 15 kms from Kottayam, with traditional Kerala architecture & modern comforts. This expansive property with well maintained sprawling greens and walkways, has good options of accommodation,designed to suit various preferences and budgets. All wooden cabins are on stilts, each cabin having its own access bridge and a covered, spacious seating area under it. Cottages are well designed, and well kept, with internet connected TV and good, but not generous bathing spaces.Visit to the adjacent bird sanctuary and other facilities like a clean swimming pool, cycling, and pedal boating are complimentary. Golf buggys to travel inside the resort were of much use. Staff is courteous . The restaurant is well designed and aesthetically located. The spread is not exhaustive, but with good flavors, both veg and non-veg. Buffet are available for lunch and dinner also. It looked like they are not very keen on serving a la carte. Well and good this much. Now I have to point out a grave drawback in the resort. There are numerous stairs and bridges everywhere , especially around the area of the restaurant, which every guest has to visit. On the two days of our stay (Lake view cabin LV-1 on 24/5 to 26/5) there was incessant drizzle, which naturally made some wooden surfaces slippery. On top of this, the area around the restaurant and some adjacent lake view cottages were totally dark at night. There are light pillars seen on the bridge and on the path leading to it, (about ten ) none of which work. Even the pillar light in front of our (and most of the others around) cabin did not light up, making our movement much difficult. We had to depend on our mobile phone torch, which is quite inadequate, to take the stairs to our cabin, and even to open the door. Sorry to say that this crucial aspect was overlooked by the house keeping dept and the management. This irresponsibility of high degree could have been reason enough for fall and fractures , and even snakebites ( we found a slender coral snake baby in the lawns), for guests, especially senior citizens like us. Until this serious inadequacy is resolved, how can I recommend this resort to anyone ? -Dr.Surendrababu,Thalassery

Nice holiday with humble services by smiling faces of its staffs. Adjacent to Bird Sanctuary and my stay is musically. Birds always singing in this property. The sceneric place disallow you to leave. If you want to outing, you can walk through the bird sanctuary and have 3 hours walk.
