This hotel was supposed to be the highlight on our European trip, and it almost was. I had booked a very special room 8 months before arrival, and got confirmation from the hotel that a specific room would be reserved for us. I was therefore very disappointed when checking in and got a different, not as good, room instead. As the hotel was fully booked they were sorry to inform me that my pre-booked room was not available. But after long discussions and involvement of the manager, we finally got our pre-booked room anyway. I don't know how this happened but it saved our stay anyway, even though we had lost the momentum of happiness after having to struggle to get what we had already paid for. So in the end we got the room with the best view and I could finally justify the very high price they charge. The breakfast was however kind of a disappointment, for this price of hotel. It was just OK to fill your belly, but nothing to brag about. Definitely the poorest display of all the hotels we stayed in. Maybe the hotel is too small to have more variety for breakfast. Just a guess. It is worth mentioning that all the staff we met were very friendly and helpful. Especially Jessica greeted us with a friendly smile in the morning. Kudos to all of them.
