Holiday Inn Express KUNMING RAILWAY STATION by IHG

First, I want to give the hotel some feedback, and I'll put it in the review section for others to参考. The hotel is very close to Kunming Station, a 400-meter walk, which is convenient for getting around. However, there's no information about which exit to use. First-time visitors could easily take the wrong exit and end up walking 1.3 kilometers! The hotel should specify that it's a 400-meter walk from the **North Exit** of Kunming Station, and to **avoid the South Exit**! The service is good; they respond to any customer needs. The facilities and cleanliness are excellent, as it's a new hotel, everything is new. In the daytime, after the sun shines in, there's a slight lingering smell of new装修. Breakfast is decent. As for the environment, a common drawback of Holiday Inn Express hotels is that there are many rooms on each floor, and the hallways can be quite winding.

I booked a trip with a friend and they recommended this hotel. I checked the reviews, and they looked pretty good. I particularly like hotels with a modern design. When we arrived, the front desk attendant was very welcoming and check-in was super quick. We even got some complimentary welcome fruit. The room was quite clean and tidy, and the housekeeping staff were very diligent and responsible.

Traveling with my mom during her spring break, we stayed at this hotel on our first night back from Xishuangbanna by high-speed train. The hotel is very close to the train station, within walking distance. The hotel entrance, however, is on a one-way street, making traffic a bit inconvenient, and directly opposite is a bus terminal. Kunming is known for its spring-like weather year-round, and the succulents in the hotel lobby were quite beautiful. The staff were also very enthusiastic and accommodating. Overall, it's a decent place, especially if you're not too particular about the surrounding area.

I chose this hotel at Kunming's high-speed train station for a transfer, as I'm an IHG member and trust their quality. However, this particular hotel doesn't earn IHG points. Compared to typical budget hotels, the breakfast was quite good. But the motion-sensor light outside the room kept inexplicably flashing on, even in the middle of the night. We had to call an engineer to cover the sensor, which was really frightening and made my child cry. Luckily, I had read other reviews beforehand and was mentally prepared.

The hygiene was impeccable, and the room was incredibly comfortable. The front desk staff had excellent service attitudes. It's about a five-minute walk from the North Railway Station exit to the hotel. I'll definitely come back next time.
