Sofitel Kunming

First stop on my Yunnan trip was Kunming. My flight was delayed, so I didn't get to the hotel until almost midnight, but check-in was smooth. The room layout was quite unique, and the bathroom was huge – a bit of a shame I didn't have time for a bath. The hotel staff, Xuanzai, even gave my child a complimentary breakfast. The breakfast spread was quite extensive with lots of local specialties, and the view from the 49th floor was amazing, offering panoramic city views of Kunming 👍

During the National Day holiday, we came to Kunming for a trip and did a lot of research beforehand. Online reviews all said that Sofitel was the top choice for scenic views in Kunming, so we specifically chose to stay here, and the experience certainly didn't disappoint. As soon as we got out of the car, a handsome bellboy came over to help with our luggage; I don't know his name, but his looks were definitely on point. We stayed for two nights and experienced different room types, especially the Deluxe Suite, which we absolutely loved. The Sofitel Kunming offers expansive views from its high floors, and the city nightscape is stunning. The floor-to-ceiling windows make every photo feel like a masterpiece. A special thank you to Amy, the Front Desk Manager, who not only has incredibly high颜值 (beauty) but also provides warm and thoughtful service. Check-in was smooth, and we felt comfortable throughout. The executive lounge was another highlight; the food quality was excellent, with a rich variety, and paired with the high-altitude views, the atmosphere was perfectly set. The staff in the executive lounge were also all attractive. The rooftop cigar bar had a great ambiance with light music, enhancing the cigar experience. The hotel's breakfast offerings were endless, a fusion of Chinese and Western cuisine. Sofitel Kunming is impeccable in terms of food, service, and views; overall, it offers excellent value for money. Whether for a leisurely vacation or a short getaway, this is a top accommodation choice in Kunming. We will definitely choose to stay here again next time we visit the Spring City!

I always stay at Sofitel, and the suite really didn't disappoint—it was spacious, and the views from the bathroom were absolutely stunning. Amy at the front desk was thoughtful, warm, and very responsive. On top of that, the lounge benefits and breakfast offered a wide variety of exquisite food, paired with breathtaking views: the breakfast restaurant boasts a 360-degree panoramic view, while the lounge overlooks Dianchi Lake in the distance. Quiet, comfortable, and great value for money—highly recommended!

Sofitel Hotel is definitely worth a stay. The high-floor views are absolutely stunning, and the breakfast restaurant offers a 360-degree panoramic view, giving you an unobstructed look at Kunming's scenery, including a distant view of Dianchi Lake. Amy at the front desk provided meticulous service, caring about our stay experience, and checked us in very efficiently. The concierge proactively offered luggage assistance, and all the staff were very friendly. We had such a good stay that we extended it for another day.

The hotel is in a great location—very convenient to the airport and right in downtown Kunming. Room rates are reasonable, and the suites offer fantastic value for money. I actually upgraded to a suite at the front desk after taking a look at it; I'd definitely recommend booking one directly if the price difference looks good to you. The view was lovely, and the bedding was super comfortable. The staff were very warm and welcoming, reaching out in advance by phone or asking for permission to connect on WeChat.

I prefer high-floor rooms, so the front desk upgraded me to a 47th-floor room with a view of Dianchi Lake. At night, the city lights were dazzling, and when I woke up in the morning, I realized there was also a distant view of Dianchi Lake, which was quite picturesque. The service was very attentive and thoughtful. A minor hiccup with luggage delivery didn't detract from the overall excellent impression. We checked in quite late, and they provided welcome fruits, snacks, and a small cake. To apologize for the late check-in, they even offered us complimentary breakfast. The breakfast was indeed very rich, and the selection was good. The only slight downside was the absence of Erkuai (a local Yunnan specialty). Overall, I was very satisfied. Although the hotel's hardware feels a bit like it's from the 2010s, it doesn't hinder the overall experience from meeting five-star standards.

The guest rooms are spotlessly clean, and the bedding is very comfortable, allowing for a good rest and quality sleep. The breakfast spread is rich and varied, featuring both Western dishes and many local Yunnan specialties, all delicious. Mia was attentive and friendly, responding promptly to any requests. The hotel is centrally located, making it convenient for sightseeing and shopping. The public areas are well-maintained. Overall, the experience was satisfying, suitable for both extended trips and short stays. Everything about this Sofitel is outstanding, and I highly recommend it.

The bedding was the best part of the experience; the mattress was just the right firmness, and the pillows and duvet were soft and breathable, making it very easy to fall asleep. After a tiring day of sightseeing, lying down instantly relieved all the fatigue, and I had a wonderfully restful night. The room was spotlessly clean, and the soundproofing was quite effective. The hotel's French-style ambiance was delightful, and its city-center location made exploring and finding food incredibly convenient. Mia's service was warm and attentive, handling issues efficiently and communicating comfortably and naturally. The breakfast offered a wide variety of dishes, and the facilities were well-maintained. Everywhere you looked, you could feel the quality of a five-star hotel. It's perfect for both short trips and layovers. If I return to Kunming, I'll definitely book this hotel again.

The accompanying Executive Lounge privileges included exquisite afternoon tea and evening happy hour offerings. Mia was particularly attentive and thoughtful, adept at noticing guests' subtle needs, and communication with her was pleasant and natural. The hotel's central location makes it convenient for getting around and shopping. With its strong French ambiance, it's perfect for both business travelers and leisure guests. Overall, the value for money is excellent, and the stay was very comfortable. I will definitely choose this hotel again when I return to Kunming.
