This place is straight from the 80s 😂 It’s clean and renovated but it’s a very OG place. Their times for everything are insane, we made a game out of trying to memorize all the different Timelines for openings and closings 😂 The entire town closes early too, make sure to drive there yourself.. beach is nice and view also. Wouldn’t need to stay there again though

Due to the severe tsunami , all the trains and transportation systems were shutdown and we were urged to evacuate within 30minutes and we spent the whole day in the evacuation center.
There is not car and buses that we can get to the hotel. How can we do the check in but the hotel still refuse to refund. It’s really disappointed as a guest who are willing to take the risk the travel to the hotel but we got no way to do it.
And I feel like the hotel doesn’t really care about the safety of the guest.
So it’s a NO for me.

The hotel is very clean, and there's a bar downstairs where you can enjoy free beer, soft drinks, coffee, and snacks. The staff are also very friendly. It's an excellent hotel.

Nice hotel! The rooms and corridors feel a little dated but the main lobby feels fresh. I especially liked the lounge with free drinks through the stay.
The shuttle bus was random times but was useful. 8000yen a night for the dinner is a lot.
I’d definitely stay again if I came to this area as it was worth the money.

A clean and relatively modern hotel sitting on top of a hill with a spectacular view of the harbour. There is an indoor/outdoor onsen on the ground floor and free alcohol and snacks from 3 to 5 pm every afternoon! Great value for money, and a great place to relax and ease back into civilisation if you’ve just come out of the mountains after doing the Kumano Kodo.

We have stayed at a Mercure before and enjoyed the experience. As before, the location is superb, the Onsen is excellent and the spacious room is comfortable. This Mercure is atop a hill and offers excellent views.

Mecure, time to lift your game!
It’s summer in Japan and the swimming pool is empty & closed.?? Surrounding landscaped areas not well maintained.
Rooms & corridors delight you with a musty aged smell that takes time getting used to.
Positives:
View of surrounding coastline excellent, sunrise beautiful.
Room’s good size. Buffet Breakfast decent with options
Afternoon & Evening free snacks & drinks a bonus.
Negs:
Customer service adequate but can’t say a lot of enthusiasm.
Room & corridor’s musty
The place needs renovation
Need car for access hotel.
No pool operating in summer???

Great staying, big rooms, lovely onsen, nice freebies in the evening and excellent breakfast. For the breakfast there was so much choice and it was so good! Honestly one of the best hotel breakfast I had, probably the best in Japan.

This was the most satisfying and cost-effective hotel among my seven trips to Japan. Arriving early and unable to check in, I stored my luggage on the first floor; the process was simple and easy following the instructions.
Transportation: The hotel offers a free shuttle bus to JR Kushimoto Station, generally coinciding with the arrival times of the Limited Express Kuroshio. The driver will help with luggage. Additionally, the Kushimoto sightseeing bus stops at the hotel entrance. To take the community bus, it's about an 8-minute walk to the B&G Marine Center.
The first-floor lounge area offers a variety of complimentary drinks, beer, and draft beer, along with unlimited snacks, from 3 PM to 5 PM. The view overlooks the hotel's outdoor swimming pool and the Pacific Ocean. From 5 PM to 10 PM, everything else continues except for beer.
The mountain view room is very large, over 30 square meters, although the facilities are slightly outdated. There's a shop selling Wakayama souvenirs on the first floor.
Finally, I must mention the onsen (hot spring). While there are no private baths, the public bath is very large, and the water temperature is similar to home bath water. The large public bath also has a door leading to the outdoor hot spring. After soaking in the hot spring, you can go to the outdoor lounge to have tea and popsicles. The hotel has indeed been renovated, but the carpets and air conditioning system are from a centuries-old hotel. If you have allergies, don't bother. I didn't realize it when I entered the room on the first day, but by night I had been coughing non-stop, with watery eyes and a runny nose, making it impossible to sleep. I got up at 5 a.m. the next morning to negotiate a refund at the front desk. However, the Ctrip order was handled by various agents and the issue wasn't resolved until 11 a.m., resulting in the cancellation of my stay for the next day. I wasted a precious morning and a sleepless night.

The room is very big and has a swimming pool. I love taking a bath in the outdoor hot springs and watching the sunset. However, there are no places to eat around except at the bar.
