Chisun Premium Kyoto Kujo

Kyoto Station Kyoto|1.87km from Fukakusa Railway Station
The hotel management let us down in the last 15 minutes before we left although everything was good before then. We checked out 15 minutes earlier at around 9.45 in the morning and loaded our luggage to our car at the hotel parking space. Just walked away, a man rushed to us and yelled at us without showing his identity: ‘Did you park your car there? You must go now!’ We said that we were the hotel guest and asked who he was. Reluctantly but still not showing his name badge, he said that he was the hotel manager (what a hotel manager!) and insisted we must drive away immediately. Very unset to a hotel guest who was allowed by its staff to park their car the night before to be greeted by a manager like that, right? Going back to the hotel front desk to settle the trouble, the man remained arrogant, did not apologize and just kept saying ‘you CANNOT park the car’ without mentioning why we COULD in fact park our car there overnight. (Why it was permitted by front desk staff? Why was there no sign and no block there? Why no one called to our room and explained if it was a breach of hotel regulation?) When we said as a hotel guest we should still have the right to park the car before checkout time which was 10.00 am, the man seemed not figuring out what our argument was and, most ridiculously, as a hotel manager to greet guests all over the world, he did not know what the words ‘courtesy’ and ‘polite’ mean. Fortunately we just stayed at Chisun Premium Kujo for one night in our 7-day trip in Kyoto. It was a totally different experience when we stayed at 俵屋旅館and Gate Hotel the following days, which was an authentic Kyoto experience to a frequent Kyoto traveller like us. As management in our own company, we reassure that, from Chisun’s experience, training to manager is much more important than to junior staff. Very often it is the management, not frontline staff, who irritates customers and ruins the company’s reputation. We had the man’s business card at last but are not going to show here. Hope the hotel management can train their staff professionally in the future.

Bathroom I only met the staff once upon check in. One common bathroom was be shared by 5 rooms of people. All the rooms seemed to be occupied and that probably had 12-15 guests. I waited up to 20 mins for my turn to shower. I also had to sit at the dining table to show my intention that I am queueing to use the bathroom. I was tired after a long day of sightseeing and it was very unpleasant to wait just to shower. The bathroom was flooded to the dry section on multiple occasions and my hubby had to use his hand to remove the hair from the drain. Room The beds were comfortable enough and the heater kept us warm. There were enough bath towels to go around. I was allocated a triple room with windows which I appreciated. However, the sound pollution from the passing vehicles was bad. Fortunately, my family members were not light - sleepers, so we could still fall asleep despite the vehicle noise. It would be really bad for light-sleepers. On the third night, the white light was left switched on. The light passed through the frosted panel on my door. Location Even though there are two train stations - Fushimi Inari Keihan Station and Inari JR Station . Beware !!! It is not convenient AT ALL. Fushimi Inari Keihan Station which is a little nearer is not connected to Kyoto Station. For JR Pass users, I had to get a separate ticket whenever I want to use this station. For JR Inari Station which is at the door step of Fushimi - Inari Taisha Shrine, it is not a subway type of train. It is a local train that comes by about every 30 minutes. I had to time myself properly to be in time for this train. It is not fast at all and it has wasted a lot of my time. If you are pressed for time, choose another place nearer to a subway station. I paid about S$200 per night for a room for three. I feel that it is not value for money.

The place is massive. Very clean, and the interior was eyecandy. Traditional Japanese meets contemporary. Great when you want to experience tatami mats and the whole wooden feel. The kitchen was also fully equipped for when you want to dine in. Bear in mind that there is no housekeeping during your stay. Also, there is not much around the area, other than you being steps away from Fushimi Inari. But you are two steps away from the Keihan station that can take you just about anywhere else. So that’s not much of a problem. It’s a great place to stay for a night or two after soaking the beauty of the Torii gates, not more. It does make it a really peaceful environment. Otherwise, I had a great stay.
SO KYOTO Fushimi Inari

The address is near Inari Station. There is a restaurant downstairs. There is no elevator to go up and down the stairs. The room is large and very comfortable. It is convenient to have a washing machine to wash and dry clothes. You need to pay attention to the email with the room number and the qr code. The whole process is self-service. There is no luggage storage.

Breakfast was very good. There is no fried food and the seasoning is only gentle. The way to take it on an ordinary plate without a partition without using a tray is very smart and good. On the day I stayed, I was surprised to find my favorite bread called Masa in Gion Bologna. I was impressed with the hospitality of delivering omelets in the open kitchen to my seat. The room is clean and functional, but it's too functional, so be careful that if you put the organisms in the first night and go out for consecutive nights, the electricity in the refrigerator will be turned off and it will not work (although this is my inadvertent). Very satisfied, I will use it again.

Very comfortable, spacious room, a sofa, a large clothes, washing machine, shampoo, clothes towels, clothes, hair dryer, ready to go to many The day is recommended here, not far from the train station, there are many restaurants, very close to the safety of the bottom, a little narrow, a very large soup, there are many restaurants, a little narrow, the cover is a little narrow.

At the beginning, I was worried about finding a place to choose a homestay. The host thoughtfully posted a video about the journey from JR to his house, so it was very easy to find. Overall it was good. Inari Shrine is within walking distance. Near, but to go to the most central area of Shijo Kawaramachi, you have to take a tram or bus to transfer. There are Keihan Electric Railway and buses nearby. The traffic is still very convenient. The place where you live is also complete. The only disadvantage is that it is relatively close to the road and the car is at night. After a bit noisy.
