Ina House Gion

We really enjoyed our three-night stay at Ina House Gion. After several smaller hotel rooms throughout our trip, it was a refreshing change to have a more spacious, apartment-style setup. At around 22 sqm, it felt noticeably more comfortable and practical than the typical 14 sqm hotel rooms, especially for a couple. The location is outstanding. Being based in the heart of Gion meant we could easily walk to some of Kyoto’s most iconic and atmospheric spots, including Yasaka Shrine, Maruyama Park, the beautiful Shirakawa Canal, Hanamikoji Street, and Pontocho Alley. Having all of this on our doorstep made our evenings particularly special. The self check-in process was completely seamless, and communication with the host was clear and reliable throughout. Everything worked exactly as expected, which made arrival stress-free. Overall, this is an ideal choice for couples who want a bit more space and a more immersive Kyoto experience, right in one of the city’s most historic and vibrant districts.

We had a great stay! The location is good, walking distance to Yasaka Shrine, Maruyama Park and Gion district. Lots of convenience store and restaurants nearby and there is also a 24 hr supermarket. It is near the bus stop where lots of Kyoto buses pass by. The place itself was clean and huge compared to other hotels. There is a separate kitchen and bathroom area with a tub. The bedroom is huge and we could unfold our luggage and still have enough space to walk around. They have provided a clothes drying rack and washing machine with detergent. There is drip coffee provided and some tea. Highly recommended if you want to stay in Gion district and walk around the Higashiyama area in Kyoto! There are lots to do around and a lot of temples within walking distance.
