We really enjoyed our three-night stay at Ina House Gion. After several smaller hotel rooms throughout our trip, it was a refreshing change to have a more spacious, apartment-style setup. At around 22 sqm, it felt noticeably more comfortable and practical than the typical 14 sqm hotel rooms, especially for a couple.
The location is outstanding. Being based in the heart of Gion meant we could easily walk to some of Kyoto’s most iconic and atmospheric spots, including Yasaka Shrine, Maruyama Park, the beautiful Shirakawa Canal, Hanamikoji Street, and Pontocho Alley. Having all of this on our doorstep made our evenings particularly special.
The self check-in process was completely seamless, and communication with the host was clear and reliable throughout. Everything worked exactly as expected, which made arrival stress-free.
Overall, this is an ideal choice for couples who want a bit more space and a more immersive Kyoto experience, right in one of the city’s most historic and vibrant districts.
