Apartment Hotel 11 Kyoto Gion

Overall, it was clean, which was nice. However, it was a bit disappointing that I had to wake up early due to an early forced wake-up call, and the window couldn't open fully, making ventilation difficult. Everything else was great. I had a good stay.

The Gion branch is conveniently located near Hanamikoji and Yasaka Shrine, but it's a bit far from the subway station. If you have luggage, taking the bus to Chion-in is more convenient. On the first night, I couldn't figure out the motion sensor light settings, and customer service didn't respond, so the light stayed on all night and I didn't sleep well. Other than that, everything else was pretty good.

The room was quite spacious and the price was excellent. However, there were some downsides. Firstly, the air conditioning blew directly onto the bed, which caused headaches if it was too strong, and if it was set too low, it got hot. Secondly, the room windows had no curtains, so I woke up every day between 6 and 7 am because it was too bright. Additionally, while the Osaka property had a washing machine in every room and a balcony for drying clothes, this place had no balcony, and laundry and drying services incurred extra charges.

The whole room was very clean, and the two large beds could comfortably sleep four people. The location is very close to the commercial street, with a FamilyMart supermarket just across the road. Walking straight to the right will take you to three different subway stations, which aren't too far. There's no balcony, and what was unbearable was the lack of curtains – the room was so bright by 4:30 AM that I couldn't fall back asleep.

The room space is quite generous for Japan, and it's fully equipped. Although self-check-in is common these days, this one was a bit tricky – remember to get the entrance password beforehand. There's no breakfast, but everything else was great. There's a beautiful little river nearby, almost as good as the Kamo River, perfect for a stroll!

Very quiet, clean, and comfortable hotel. I would definitely stay here again if I visit Kyoto in the future.

Great location and a decent-sized room that met our needs, so we extended our stay for another 2 nights. It would be even better if housekeeping service was provided every 2-3 days.
