Hotel Arashiyama

A spacious boutique hotel with high ceilings, I stayed in a twin room with a view with of the river and bridge. The room was clean and comfortable, bathroom (to be expected) was compact but efficient! Room facilities were clean and air con was appreciated after a long hot day. They also have a microwave and utensils for any food you pick up from outside. A side note but nothing to do with hotel, most local causal restaurants close early, last orders at 6:30pm. The hotel is close to subway lines (depending which station you’re arriving at). It took me 15 minutes to walk from the station (it was the one furthest away, taking you past all the local town restaurants and shops. Getting up early for a morning stroll to the major sites and temples made it easy. Presented with a discount coupon for the neighbourhood onsen, 2 minutes walk from the hotel is a must! Highly recommended.
