Amazing all round. Can’t complain about anything. Maybe need a few more washing machines for the laundry room

Room is spacious n clean. Walking distance to train station and convenience stores.

I booked this hotel for 2 adults and 2 children for 3 days but the hotel said it never received my request for children and Trip told me I was correct but advised me to pay the extra $300 and get reimbursed later. Trip has decided now not to reimburse me. The hotel was in a good ocation and had a nice breakfast but the onsen was small and service was subpar as they did not provide anything for my children even after I paid the extra money. My vacation was ruined.

Nice hotel with modern and culture japanese

One of the best hotel I stayed in Kyoto. The hotel does come with onsen which did not stated in the description. And the food is delicious

Had a fantastic first time ryokan experience with breakfast included. Staff were polite, friendly and helpful. We took the wide room and had the staff futons set up in the evening. If you have legs issues, you would have abit of trouble sitting down and standing up, but the staff were more than willing to provide chairs.

Absolutely gorgeous modern ryokan that had all the amenities and is super near to Kyoto station. Many bus stations within 7-8 minutes walk and do visit the nearby Higashi Hongan-Ji temple as well

The hotel facilities are very new, the environment is clean and tidy, the service is very good, and someone will help to lay out the room bedding in advance. Breakfast is too early, there are only two times to choose from, 7 o'clock and 8 o'clock. I chose the 8 o'clock breakfast, but it was amazing! Great experience.

Basically, it meets my expectations of a traditional Japanese hotel. I have stayed in this kind of Japanese-style hotel in Mount Fuji and Yuzawa, and I think it is very stylish. Staying in an ordinary hotel in Kyoto always feels too detached. In order to avoid leg and knee discomfort, I booked a comfortable Japanese room with ordinary chairs and tables. It is not so difficult to stand up. If the tatami mattress feels hard, you can put another mattress underneath. As for the problem of too much light in the morning without curtains mentioned in the reviews, it does not exist for us, because I booked breakfast at 7 o'clock, and went to the attractions I wanted to go after eating. There were fewer people and the experience was much stronger... During the cherry blossom season in Kyoto, it feels like there are people from all over the world, and there are more Westerners than Asians...It doesn't matter what you wear, some wear down jackets, some wear shorts, and suspender skirts. There are people speaking all kinds of languages... The hotel is very conveniently located, opposite the central exit of Kyoto Station, go into the alley of Family Mart, turn left and walk 100 meters. Porta dining at Kyoto Station has all kinds of food, and we basically solved it in 4 days. There is also a chain restaurant called "The King of Dumplings." I saw it in many places, but in fact, it not only has dumplings, but also stir-fried rice and noodles. The dumplings are really good, but the "twice-cooked pork" will subvert your imagination... The room layout is reasonable, the bathroom is separated into dry and wet areas, and there is a bathtub. We didn't go to the hot spring downstairs (men and women are separated, naked. Bring your own bath towels and slippers from the room). I think the bathtub bubbles are refreshing. The room is very clean and comfortable to use. Someone will make the bed at night. I told them that make bed is not good, but lay out futon. If I have to say the shortcomings, I think the cleaning is not very careful every day. The floor towels and towels were not replenished on the second day, and the bed was not made again. The breakfast is too plain... Every day is fish, there are many varieties, and I always feel that I am not full. But this is how people eat, even if it is an experience of local food. In short, the location is great, it's convenient to go anywhere, the subway and bus are very close, there are many transportation lines in Kansai, except for JR, they are all operated by different companies, but fortunately the route signs are clear, and the important thing is that SUICA cards are universal, so there is no need to buy tickets separately, which saves a lot of trouble. When we came to Japan in the early 2000s, we still bought tickets separately, and we could only use cash. By the way, check out at 10 o'clock, and the luggage can be stored at the front desk. The front desk service attitude is very good. Although the English is not very standard, it is no problem to understand. In short, recommended!

The location is really great, quiet in a busy city, and close to Kyoto Station for subway or JR (but be prepared, Kyoto Station itself is very big). It is very convenient to take the bus to various attractions in the city. A self-made Kyoto guide was also provided in the room, which was very helpful. It is especially suitable for people who want to experience a Japanese inn but also want to enjoy the feeling of a modern hotel. My room can sleep up to 3 people, and it really feels luxurious to live alone, hahaha. If I must say something, the following points should be noted: 1) The English of the front desk is average. Although they kept apologizing, they could actually use a translator; 2) There are no curtains in the room. I wore an eye mask to sleep. People with light sensitivity should not come here; 3) There were some misunderstandings in other reviews before. You don’t need to bring your own towels and slippers. The hotel provides almost all daily necessities. You only need to bring your own slippers and towels when taking a bath. P.S. The cookies provided by the hotel for the welcome tea were super delicious. I asked if they were for sale, but they refused (strongly requested that they be sold)

The hotel is very close to Kyoto Station. If you need convenient transportation for your first visit to Kyoto, it is a good choice. The hotel hygiene looks good at first glance, but there are still many omissions if you look closely, such as dust in the closet, hair on the floor of the public bathroom, etc. The most unbearable thing this time was that I found the door of the room wide open at two or three in the afternoon, and there was no hotel staff working inside (all our luggage and personal belongings were in the room). I immediately took photos and communicated with the day before. After asking the front desk and relevant personnel, they said that there was a towel missing, so they went to get it. However, why can't we close the door and then go to get it, and I saw that there was no towel missing in the room, and no one came to deliver the missing towel later. So it was just a prevarication. The front desk apologized with the polite attitude that the Japanese are accustomed to, but there was no solution, and they always used the same old words to deal with us. After the last half an hour of communication, the front desk said to ask the manager to give a solution to refund one day's room fee, and guaranteed that no staff would open our door without authorization, and we left for dinner. But I didn't expect to return to the room at 6 o'clock, put my things away and leave again. I didn't come back until 8 or 9 o'clock and found a letter posted outside the door. It said that if we checked out today, they would refund one night's accommodation, and if we didn't check out, there would be no check-out fee. It's ridiculous. Is this how Japanese people go back on their words? I took the letter and went to communicate with the front desk again in silence. At that time, someone was checking in, so I waited in line until they found me and took me aside. I asked him what he meant. The front desk said that he thought we said we were leaving in the afternoon, so he asked for a check-out fee. I said that the surveillance camera above my head could review whether I had said this. In the end, he said that he had misunderstood, and then he kept talking in circles for ten minutes. In the end, he agreed that I didn't need to check out, and he would still refund me one day's room fee (his manager stood by and didn't say a word throughout the whole scene), and finally bowed and it was over. It was a very unpleasant experience. I probably won't choose this hotel again.
