Traditional Japanese inns like this are becoming increasingly rare in Kyoto. This ryokan truly embodies an old-world charm, from the symbolic key you use for coming and going, to the warm greetings from the front desk every time you step out. The rooms are wonderfully traditional Japanese, and it even has a large public bath. Stays at inns like these are a dwindling experience, truly something to cherish.

The service here was great the only issue here was with another group of travelers who were eating next door my voice is very low and it Carries so they asked me to be quiet.

Very convenient location near Gion and Kiyomizu Dera. The hotel owner is very kind and take care of guests very excellent. Price is reasonable. I will come back to stay for sure.

Spotlessly clean and tidy. It's a traditional Japanese ryokan, exactly as the name suggests. The atmosphere was fantastic. That said, this style of accommodation does come with a couple of drawbacks: limited power outlets and a shared toilet.

If you want a place that feels like a tradicional house of anime it’s your place, the owners are the best, I really recommend this place

Good and beautiful Ryokan near several temples and walking distance from gion neighbourhood. Owners are nice and speak English. Be aware that it is traditional style Ryokan so the bathroom are shared with other guest, sometimes up to four people at the same time. If you don't mind that then I recommend this place.

Overall, it was fantastic. The location is near Kiyomizu-dera Temple, the staff were very welcoming, the Japanese-style rooms were odor-free, and staff helped make the beds. Luggage storage was free on check-out day, and the Japanese-style mornings were truly unique! I loved the atmosphere of this inn and would definitely stay here again next time.

The hotel is located near Kiyomizu-Gojo subway station, very close to Kiyomizu-dera Temple and Ninenzaka, both within a 15-minute walk. It's a traditional Japanese machiya (townhouse) inn with 85 years of history, clean, tidy, and charming. The bathroom is shared but includes a hot spring bath. The breakfast is unique and worth trying.

I stayed here about 10 years ago, and the hotel layout is pretty much what I remember. I specifically chose this hotel because it's close to Kiyomizu-dera Temple; the owner recommended visiting the temple in the evening, which I did on the day of check-in, and it was definitely worth it. I was very happy to stay at a familiar hotel in a foreign country. The owner speaks good English, so communication wasn't a problem.

I stayed here a few times 25 years ago because of its proximity to Kiyomizu-dera Temple, and I always enjoyed it and recommended it to friends. Now, with the ***** New Year holiday, I came back to stay here again, reminiscing about my childhood in Kyoto. Everything was just as wonderful. Thank you for the inn's attentive and warm hospitality; it felt like home. Happy New Year!

The room is great, the service is good, the location is excellent, and you can walk to Kiyomizu Temple, Ninenzaka, and Threenzaka

The hotel manager? He is very kind and the facilities are Japanese tatami rooms and especially the comforters that are laid out for you when you come back from the hotel are so soft that you can fall asleep easily. There is a hot water pot in the room for tea and the shower is available at a set time.

Kyoto is the first stop of my trip to Japan. The hotel is very clean, quiet and tidy. The location is advantageous and it is very convenient to travel. The attitude of the staff is very friendly and polite. It is worth staying again
