First Cabin Kyoto Nijojo

The location is a bit of a walk from Marutamachi subway station, which might be tough depending on the weather and how much luggage you have. However, the facilities themselves were incredibly clean and well-maintained – from the sleeping capsules, washrooms, toilets, and shower rooms, all the way to the large public bath. Everything was spotless and very comfortable. The amenities provided were also excellent! The lobby was full of fun touches and great services; a friend who stayed elsewhere even said, 'I should have stayed here!' she was so envious. Most of the guests in the sleeping capsules were international, but everyone was respectful, and I didn't experience any noise issues at all. The front desk staff were all so kind, polite, and provided perfect service. I'll definitely be staying here again next time I'm in Kyoto. Thank you so much!

This was my first time experiencing a hostel in Japan, and I was incredibly impressed. The staff were friendly, the facilities were comprehensive and clean, and there was an abundant supply of snacks and tea bags. They even have an artificial onsen you can use. There's a large shopping mall right across the street, and it's very close to the bus stop, though the subway is about a ten to fifteen-minute walk away. The only minor drawbacks were the small bedside locker, which wasn't very convenient for storing belongings. Larger luggage had to be left near the entrance or by the bed, which was a bit inconvenient. Also, the duvet was quite thin, and I woke up cold at night. If you need an extra blanket, remember to grab one in advance.

Having stayed in many capsule hotels, this one offered the best experience by far. It has a large public bath and individual shower rooms, as well as a common lounge. Plus, there's a free lactic acid drink served in the afternoon. Most other hotels require guests to check out by 10 AM, but this one has no such strict rule, allowing residents to return to the hotel for a rest during midday, which makes traveling much more convenient and flexible. There's also a supermarket and duty-free shop nearby, which is very handy. The only downside is that the transportation isn't as convenient as I'd hoped. While it's easy to get there by bus, the bus frequency is quite low, and if you take the subway, it's at least a 15-minute walk. I'd definitely choose this chain of capsule hotels again!
