Hotel Keihan Kyoto Ekiminami

This is my third time in Kyoto, and this hotel has a spacious room, excellent location south of Kyoto Station, and is very clean. Toiletries are available for self-service downstairs, and the breakfast is delicious! I highly recommend staying here again on my next visit to Kyoto.

The hotel's location is fantastic! The room was also very clean, and I was really happy with the check-in experience and the housekeeping during my stay. Breakfast was decent, and a big plus was that the hotel restaurant is open all day, offering free drinks and disposable cutlery. It's a great spot to relax or to bring your own food to eat there, which was incredibly convenient! My only slight dissatisfaction was with the 'medium room' type; it had a long corridor that was practically useless, yet it cost significantly more than a standard room. Overall, I was quite satisfied and would choose this hotel again if I have the chance.

Excellent location, very convenient for dining and shopping. Easy access to Kifune and Kiyomizu-dera Temples. Very clean.

The breakfast was delicious. The location is incredibly convenient. The hotel itself is spacious, and the amenities and facilities are comprehensive. It was a very satisfying stay, and I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Kyoto. You can even book breakfast upon arrival.

The only downside was the pillows – they were as hard as rocks! Everything else was pretty good. The room was cleaned daily, and the location was decent. There's an Aeon mall nearby with food options, and Kyoto Station across the street is also convenient with plenty of places to eat. However, if you're looking to shop, Shijo Kawaramachi would be a better area to stay.

The room's cleanliness was, as always, excellent, and it was quite spacious. We booked a twin room, and the beds could be pushed together. However, the bathroom was exceptionally small, making it difficult to place toiletries, including cups and razors, freely. There's a self-service laundry room and an ice machine. The room only provides two bottles of water, and there's no water purifier. Although the bathroom sign indicates the water is drinkable, it actually has a strong chlorine smell, which persists even after boiling. This isn't very practical for those accustomed to bottled mineral water or water purifiers in their home country. All toiletries were provided, but I have two main complaints: the toothpaste came in a tiny 2x1 cm paper sachet, which was incredibly inconvenient – small, hard to tear open, and difficult to squeeze out. It was quite an experience! Secondly, unlike the first hotel we stayed at, there were no bath salts provided. Transportation is extremely convenient, with Kyoto Station directly across the street. Check-in was also easy, and our luggage was automatically stored by the front desk upon arrival.

The room isn't huge, but it was perfectly adequate for one person. Being right across from Kyoto Station made getting around incredibly convenient, and the room itself was surprisingly quiet. While the breakfast selection wasn't vast, it was quite tasty, and the dining area was pleasant and not crowded. Recommended!

The service was great, and the location was super convenient. There's a convenience store right downstairs, and Kyoto Station is just across the street. They even have toiletries and skincare products available on the first floor, where you can also store your luggage.
