Stay Sakura Kyoto Kiyomizu Ougi

The hotel room was unexpectedly spacious, and they had a front desk staff who spoke Chinese, which was a great plus! There were pots and pans (?) in the room, so we could cook our own meals, which was super convenient. The bathroom was also quite large, and the bed was so soft and comfortable – I slept really well! I'd definitely book this place again next time I'm in Kyoto. It's also really convenient to get to the mall and Kiyomizu-dera Temple, just a 15-20 minute walk. (If possible... please play the video on mute! I was recording it for a friend and kept exclaiming 'Oh my god, oh my god!')

We booked a connecting room as we're a family of four: dad, mom, and two kids. The heating made the room a bit dry, but thankfully, each room had a drying rack, and the washing machine was free to use. We did laundry every day, hung it up to dry overnight, so we didn't even need a separate dryer. The kitchen was quite unique – it was cleverly hidden behind a cabinet that you could pull up to reveal it! The location is quiet, just one subway stop away from the city center. This meant we could sleep peacefully without the noise you'd typically find in downtown Osaka. Within a 5-minute walk from the hotel, there's the 'Mimi-zuka' (Ear Mound) and a wagashi (Japanese confectionery) making experience center. I highly recommend visiting these spots, especially if you're Korean.

Here's a breakdown of my stay: **Location:** To get there, take bus 208 or 206 from Kyoto JR Station and alight at 'Hakubutsukan Sanjusangendo-mae' (Museum Sanjusangendo Front). It's about a ten-minute walk from there. **Price:** I paid HKD 1590 for two nights in a two-bedroom suite, which works out to HKD 265 per person per night. Excellent value for money, highly recommend booking this place. **Facilities:** The room was quite spacious, with enough room to open two 26-inch suitcases. The kitchen is cleverly tucked away under a counter, you just lift the countertop to access it. It's fully equipped, though the only downside is the lack of a full-length mirror. **Bathroom:** The bathroom isn't huge, but it has a separate wet and dry area. The bathtub allows you to control the water volume and temperature electronically for a soak. However, if you turn up the shower's water pressure, it starts running cold, so the water temperature can be a bit inconsistent. **Lobby:** The lobby is spacious and offers complimentary disposable toiletries. There are also two washing machines with detergent pods and a dryer function. The only drawback is that check-in times are limited, so be sure to check those details. Additionally, you can find a luggage delivery service at the guest services center, but that also has time restrictions.

This is a very authentic Japanese-style guesthouse. It's equipped with cooking facilities, and the bathroom features separate wet and dry areas. Located in a quiet residential neighborhood, it's wonderfully peaceful and also very photogenic.
