Mercure Kyoto Station

Good hotel with a good buffet breakfast. The rooms are spacious. It's about an 8-minute walk from Osaka Station, and there are shops and cafes nearby. One cafe always had a queue, but we never got around to trying it. We stayed for 4 nights and used the 'decline housekeeping for a drink from the bar' option. You could choose between two types of lemonade, beer, and a 'magical' 9% lemon cocktail. According to my friends, it gives no hint of alcohol until it suddenly hits you! 🤣

This hotel is located north of Kyoto Station, making it very convenient for transportation. The decor is quite unique and the room size, for Japan, is very generous. The breakfast was also excellent. Overall, I highly recommend it.

Small and exquisite, very clean and quiet. The breakfast buffet offers a wide variety of Japanese, Western, and Indian curry dishes. The room is a bit small, with only enough space for a sofa stool, but you can still open your suitcase.

The hotel is a convenient 10-minute walk from Kyoto Station. The large windows in the room let in plenty of light, making it feel very open. The shower in the bathroom is also much more comfortable than some places with bathtubs. Most of the guests here seem to be Westerners. Definitely recommended.

This is a very new hotel, and the service is excellent, as is the cleanliness. They offer complimentary drinks daily. The room was a bit on the smaller side, but we were able to open two large suitcases by moving the chairs and table around. The only downside is the location. Although it's called the 'Kyoto Station Hotel,' it's not actually that close to Kyoto Station, nor are there any subway stations nearby. Getting to tourist attractions pretty much requires a taxi. It's a bit inconvenient for leisure travel, but I imagine it would be great for business trips. For reference, a taxi from the hotel to Shijo shopping street or Fushimi Inari Taisha costs around 2300 yen.

The location is great, not far from Kyoto Station, and the breakfast is delicious! All the staff are very kind. There's a convenient store nearby, which was handy, and it was great to be able to use the microwave and tables in the basement for quick meals. The room was also very clean and spacious, perfect for opening up my suitcase! I plan to stay here again next time :)

The hotel's service, facilities, and environment are all excellent, truly commendable! I'm sure I'll book this hotel again next time I visit Kyoto. It offers great value for money, and they even provide daily complimentary drinks, though we didn't get a chance to have any. What surprised us was that the hotel staff gave us something at check-out.
