Modern design hotel that appeals to the younger crowd. Medium queen room was spacious and I could lay out my luggage case on the long bench. Don't expect nice views from the room as it will be facing other buildings. Room was on the darker side, as the interior design is mostly black and gray, and the lighting was minimal, so it is good for relaxing and not working. For breakfast, you can order 1 plate from ala carte menu, and there is a salad bar. Pretty simple but does the job. Location wise, it is closer to Gojo metro station than Shijo station. There is a metro exit with elevator so you can use that when carrying luggage. It is a longer walk to Shijo dori shopping street, so you may prefer to book a hotel closer to Shijo station / Hankyu Karasuma station if you want to be more central to the shopping area.

Extremely satisfied! The service was excellent, and the price was great. The room was especially clean. I'll definitely stay here again next time I visit. The location is also perfect, right next to the subway station. I'll be back!

I came here for a business trip. As someone who lived in Kyoto for almost 3 years before the mask mandate, I have to say, hotels in Kyoto are terrible, and they're getting worse. This hotel is no exception; everything here is just barely passable. The service is mediocre, the facilities are mediocre, and the breakfast is mediocre. And the price isn't even low. I'm truly fed up; the service industry in Japan is really going downhill.

It's rare to find such a spacious hotel in Japan, and the views are excellent. It's a bit of a walk from the subway station, about four or five minutes.

The Hotel is located in a good location, just one stop away from Kyoto Station. The Room is spacious and so big in japan standard, just sadly it didn’t come with a bath tub. Staffs here are so professional and helpful as well. If you going to catch Shinkansen in the morning at 7AM, staying at this hotel is a good choice. The first train to Kyoto station is 6:27AM from Gojo to Kyoto Station, so I recommend you to get the tickets the night before because you would be hassle free.

The lobby makes a strong first impression with its tasteful, contemporary design—very much in line with what seasoned travelers appreciate after a long journey. Location-wise, the hotel is a solid choice. Being close to the train station and surrounded by local food options made getting around and finding good meals effortless. That said, the 5pm check-in time is noticeably later than usual and can be inconvenient if you arrive early. I passed the time at the restaurant and bar next to the lobby, taking advantage of their Happy Hour, which helped. A nice touch was the self-service luggage storage area—practical and traveler-friendly. I stayed in a corner room. The room itself was fine: clean, functional, and simple, as expected of many Japanese hotels. The view, however, was unremarkable. I also tried the public bath. It was reasonably sized and, thankfully, not too crowded during my visit, making it a relaxing experience. Service was a bit cool at first, though it improved as the stay went on. Overall, I would consider returning, especially when traveling as a couple.

I had a wonderful stay at Sequence Kyoto Gojo and would happily stay here again on my next trip to Kyoto. The hotel is modern, stylish, and exceptionally clean. My room was thoughtfully designed, making great use of the space while still feeling comfortable and relaxing. The bed was very comfortable, and the overall atmosphere was peaceful after a full day of exploring Kyoto. The location is excellent—just a short walk from Gojo Station, with convenience stores, cafés, and restaurants nearby. It made getting around Kyoto incredibly easy. What truly made my stay special was the kindness of the staff. To my surprise, they prepared a small birthday gift for me during my stay. I have no idea how they knew it was my birthday, but it was such a thoughtful gesture that genuinely touched my heart. It wasn’t about the gift itself—it was the care and effort behind it that made me feel so welcomed and appreciated. Thank you to everyone at Sequence Kyoto Gojo for making my trip even more memorable. Your hospitality and attention to detail made my stay truly special, and I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Kyoto. I look forward to staying here again in the future.

I stayed at this hotel. And the access was the best. And the breakfast doesn't have many option but very reasonable price.

The decor is very modern, and you can grab a drink in the lobby. Since the staff are all young, English communication was not an issue. I didn't get to experience the large public bath, but I saw some guests heading there. The location is very close to the station! It's convenient and comfortable.

It is my second in Kyoto, and I stayed both times in this hotel - this proves that this is really nice hotel. The room is spacious compared to other hotels I stayed im Japan, facilities are great, staffs are friendly. We tried the breakfast and dinner at the bar, the breakfast has quite limited selections but th quality was great. Dinner was a little disappointing for the price, but overall still a good experience.
