The room was clean and odor-free, and the bedding was soft, so I slept really well. The service was warm and efficient, and the location was convenient with plenty of amenities nearby. It offers excellent value for money. My entire stay was comfortable and worry-free, and the breakfast was abundant.

The room I was initially assigned had a window facing a wall, which felt quite claustrophobic. I paid extra to upgrade to a street-facing room. The hotel is close to Kyoto Station, making it very convenient for getting around. Booking in advance definitely offered good value for money.

Traveling from Osaka to Kyoto by express train, and planning to take the Shinkansen from Kyoto to Tokyo, I searched for hotels based on location and decisively chose this one. It's directly accessible from Kyoto Station via an underground passage. If your phone signal is weak on your first arrival, I recommend walking above ground; it's just two short blocks away and safe. Of course, you can also follow navigation through the underground passage, it's a straight shot all the way. The hotel lobby is simple yet beautiful, offering individually packaged toners and facial cleansers, tea bags, coffee, and disposable amenities for guests to take freely. The room isn't large, but it offers good value for money (considering the location!). I stayed on the 3rd floor this time, and the window faced a small street, making it very quiet – I couldn't hear any of the hustle and bustle from the main street or station outside. The bed was on the softer side, with charging outlets on both sides. The bathroom was also small but standard; there was more than enough space to turn around and dry off. I booked breakfast for two days, and the offerings were exactly the same both days. The live cooking station had Vietnamese pho, and there were plenty of vegetables (both raw and cooked). When in Kyoto, you absolutely have to try the local tofu; it's incredibly smooth and delicious.

The location is excellent, right behind Yodobashi, which is super convenient. You can access the subway directly from the hotel, and Kyoto Station is just a few minutes' walk to the right. If you head out to the left and cross the street, there are two bus stops.

Since I don't have a language barrier, everything went smoothly. The environment and service were excellent, and the facilities were great. The location is convenient, with direct access to the underground shopping street, subway, and Kyoto Station for easy transportation. The hotel provides free drip coffee, hair oil, skincare products, earplugs, hair ties, and bath salts on the first floor – very thoughtful. They also respond quickly to any requests.

Pros: First, the location is incredibly convenient. You can reach Kyoto Station directly via an underground passage, and exiting from gates 1 or 2 means you avoid dealing with street level, which is great for travelers with luggage. Second, the hotel's price is reasonable. While the housekeeping is a bit semi-self-service, its value for money is excellent. The room has all the necessary amenities, and there's enough space to open a suitcase. Third, the hotel has a self-service laundry room, though it can get busy, so planning your time wisely is recommended. Cons: The room had a slightly damp smell, possibly due to high humidity, and the duvet sometimes felt a bit clammy. The housekeeping definitely isn't a daily full-service clean, but I had that expectation beforehand, so it wasn't a big deal. Kyoto is a historic city with many attractions. I had a wonderful five-day stay and took lots of great photos.

The room was a bit small, but its location was a big plus. It's right by Kyoto Station, so you can just walk there. Plus, there's Isetan nearby, so shopping is really convenient – you'll find everything you need. The Ramen Street inside is also great for dining, with lots of choices.

I got an unexpected room upgrade! It's also super convenient to get back to the hotel by bus, with the Karasuma Nanajo stop right across the street. Kyoto Station isn't far either. Just a heads up, there's another Daiwa hotel near the airport bus stop, so make sure you're going to the right one. The upgraded room had one major flaw – the shower in room 305 had a distinct urine smell 😂 I only noticed it when I showered at night. Good thing I was only staying two nights. The smell disappeared after the first person showered, BUT! It reappeared on the second day when I showered again!! On the positive side, the hotel provides a lot of amenities, including drip coffee, bath salts, and hair oil. Plus, they have items for children (available at the front desk: small towels, slippers, and toothbrushes/toothpaste).

The staff were very friendly, and the location was excellent, making it easy to get around. On the first floor, there's a self-service area with cleaning supplies, tea bags, and coffee available, which was clean and hygienic. Plus, there's a direct passage from the hotel entrance to Kyoto Station, so you don't have to worry about getting wet in the rain!

Location: Extremely, extremely, extremely convenient! It's a 5-minute walk from JR Kyoto Station, and a little further to the Shinkansen Kyoto Station, but still only a 10-minute walk. Staying here not only allows you to explore Kyoto, but also makes it easy to day trip to Osaka, Kobe, Uji, and Nara. Cleanliness: Clean and tidy, the room attendants cleaned meticulously every day. Ambiance: The room has a nice Japanese style. Service: Self-check-in is available in the lobby, which is very fast. I arrived very late on the day of check-in, and the hotel upgraded my room, which I really appreciate.

The room was really spacious! We could easily open up two large suitcases. The price was great, and the interior had an 'old money' vibe, with a sense of history and quality. The location was also very convenient, close to Okayama Station, but far enough from the hustle and bustle that it wasn't noisy.

The room was clean and tidy. For breakfast, there's the "Sen" Vietnamese restaurant on the second floor. There's also a local coffee shop right across the street, which is super convenient. I'd definitely recommend this place from all angles. Just a heads up, there's another Daiwa Roynet Hotel nearby, and taxi drivers seem to be more familiar with that one, so you might need to clarify the address beforehand.
