Excellent view. Everything is clean and neat. They also provided two bottle of waters to welcome visitors.

Stayed on top floor room which had a lovely view of the surrounding mountains and Kyoto (couldn’t find a better picture). Hotel is a 15 minute walk from the centre but surrounding area and temples are beautiful and worth exploring themselves. Staff is super helpful and hotel is kept very clean.

I had a wonderful stay here. The room was spotless, surprisingly spacious, and very comfortable. It’s a great choice whether you’re traveling alone or with your partner. The self check-in system was easy to use and very convenient. Everything was smooth and stress-free from start to finish. I was very satisfied with my stay at the hotel. The room was clean, tidy, and well-equipped. The bed was comfortable and the space was quiet, allowing for a very relaxing rest. All the facilities worked well, the bathroom was clean, and the hot water was stable.

After a long day of travelling there. The last thing you want to deal with late at night is an auto check-in that is clumsy and cumbersome and doesn't work. That's exactly what I experienced. Plus the air conditioner didn't work well and I was sweating at night. Also there's one tiny table to put your things on. Go somewhere else I'd advise,.

The room was comfortable and clean. Although it's a bit far from the bustling city center, the surrounding area is quiet and perfect for rest. The room was fully equipped. The staff were also very friendly and patient during self-check-in. I highly recommend staying here!!!!!

The check-in process was completely online, as it is a self-check-in hotel, and everything was smooth and easy to follow. Before arriving, I had my luggage shipped from the airport to the hotel because I mistakenly assumed there would be a front desk to receive it. Since this is a self-check-in property, there is no staffed front desk, which was entirely my misunderstanding when booking. Even though they were not obligated to help with my luggage, the staff went above and beyond to assist me. They retrieved my luggage and placed it directly in my room, which I truly appreciated. Traveling solo with two large, heavy suitcases had been challenging, especially after navigating the metro and bus system from the airport. Their kindness and willingness to help made a huge difference during my trip and exceeded my expectations. I am very grateful for the extra effort they made to ensure everything went smoothly. The room itself was amazing—clean, comfortable, and exactly what I needed. Overall, I had a fantastic experience and would gladly stay here again.

Kyotology is located a bit away from the centre but in a good neighbourhood near two main metro stations (just 15 min walk to Kyoto station). The double room is very spacious, the hotel is quite calm and they replace your towels and empty trash bins each day. A place I’ll return to when back to Kyoto.

My first time staying at an unmanned hotel and it couldn't have gone smoother. The whole process was hassle-free from start to finish. Room was spacious, modern, and well-kept. Location is excellent - quiet area with temples and a good restaurant just nearby. Would easily stay again.
