Four Points Flex by Sheraton Kyoto Oike

The hotel's location is excellent, with convenience stores and eateries nearby, making it super easy to get around. Many attractions are within walking distance. The front desk staff are very welcoming, and there's complimentary coffee and tea in the lobby.

The room was very clean and comfortable, and the location was excellent. It's a great value-for-money option. I stayed at the same chain in Kanazawa and decided to try it in Kyoto as well, and it was a very good experience. Great value!

The room was small, but I felt it offered good value for money. My main negative experience was when I asked to switch to a room with a view. The front desk told me there were no available rooms, and they gave me the same reason the next day when I asked again. However, the very next morning, I saw many rooms on that side checking out. This part of the experience was quite disappointing. If the room doesn't face the street, there's almost no natural light. The breakfast, however, was quite good with many options, and it wasn't too crowded. Recommended!

Everything else was great, but it consistently smelled bad. I spent a long time trying to figure out why, and this is the first time I've encountered this in Japan. I noticed others also mentioned the strange odor. It's probably an issue with the ventilation system.

The location is excellent, right next to the Kyoto City Hall. It's less than a ten-minute walk to Kawaramachi or the Kamo River. The breakfast features three special curries, with a different one served each day, which was absolutely delicious. There were also plenty of fried dishes. It's a shame there's no large public bath, but I went to the nearby Hatsune Yu which was also great.

Pretty good. The room was a bit small but very clean and comfortable. Kyoto is also beautiful.
