The Westin Miyako Kyoto (KASUI-EN)

This stay at the Westin Kyoto Garden View Suite was an absolute delight, truly stunning! Stepping inside, I was greeted by a breathtakingly lush green view, a perfect immersive Japanese atmosphere. The room featured a private soaking tub for exceptional privacy, while the living room's tatami seating was comfortable and cozy. The windows offered panoramic views of the verdant garden, a tranquil and soothing experience. The hotel itself exudes Zen-like tranquility, with a beautifully designed Japanese garden. Strolling through the grounds or along the hiking trails in the back hills, the natural mountain ambiance felt incredibly immersive, a true connection to nature, allowing for complete relaxation. The room breakfast was delivered to my room, offering a superb selection of exquisite dishes with excellent taste. The staff were incredibly attentive and friendly, providing exceptional service throughout, making for a very comfortable stay. This is definitely my top choice for a Kyoto vacation – serene, elegant, and with a superb atmosphere. I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Kyoto!

Overall, the facilities and service were excellent. I especially recommend the hotel's teppanyaki; the ingredients were fresh and cooked to perfection, making for a very enjoyable dining experience. The only minor drawback was the lack of amenities in the public hot spring area. Currently, only cleansing lotion and body wash are provided; toner, facial care products, and hair care products are missing. For a top-tier luxury resort like Jia Shui Yuan, guests typically expect more comprehensive and personalized care packages, and I hope this detail can be improved in the future.

It exceeded my expectations, it was great. The room was upgraded and was very large, with a small living room. I didn't quite understand the breakfast, it was too Japanese-style.

It was alright. I booked this hotel on Trip.com because it was listed as a "Chinese Choice" on Ctrip. However, there was no Chinese-speaking receptionist at check-in; I had to use a translator. I know my lack of English is my fault, but I booked it specifically because it was listed as a "Chinese Choice" hotel! Without that label, I wouldn't know what to say. Besides, Uber kept having problems locating me at the correct hotel location, so I had to walk 100 meters to the other side of the street to hail a taxi. However, the location is quite close to Sannenzaka and Kiyomizu-dera Temple, and I took taxis throughout the city. The room wasn't very big, but it didn't bother me since I was alone. The price of 13,000 yen for three nights was moderate, but I later went to the InterContinental Osaka for 8,700 yen for three nights, which seemed like a much better deal, and the city view was better.

The staff's service and attentiveness are truly wonderful.

There is a small courtyard on the hillside next to the Westin main building. The environment is good, the rooms are first-class, and the service is also very good. However, the room is small, the ceiling is not high enough, it is easy to bump your head, and the room layout is not good. It is difficult to walk into the bedroom.
