Gran Hotel Costa del Sol

Staff lovely - very attentive. Food good but buffet always cold. Plenty new towels daily in room. Super location for touring/viewing the area. Pool area cleaned daily.

Great staff, breakfast had so much choice and fantastic value.

I choose to ignore the previous reviews and took my wife and son along for a weeks holiday. on arrival the lady at reception was very nice i tried by saying hi and good afternoon in spanish which she liked, she said the room allocated wasn't a good view so she gave us a higher floor overlooking the pool. the room was clean yes it is a bit dated but it's for sleeping in so not bothered about the decor, the beds are comfy and clean and that's all that matters to us. we headed down to the restaurant as we were all inclusive and i just say the options where great, lots of salads and pastas a typical spanish spread, my only criticism would be not much for a 9 year old but this is not a fun kids hotel it's geared up for adults but that might be due to it still being winter, the previous comments are true the food can get cold but i would say take the steak chicken or pork straight from the grill if it's hot you want. we asked for red wine and they bring a bottle nice touch that and plenty of desserts if that's your thing, the waiting staff are all lovely and again speak to people the way you'd like to be spoken to and you'll be fine here. the pool area is good plenty of beds and again a great pool bar across from the beach the staff here as in the first floor bar are excellent. the area around is not for party goers however if you like nice walks lovely cafes and outstanding restaurants then la cala is your go to spanish resort i really couldn't fault what we seen on the area there is a lidl just 5 mins away and plenty of shops, my wife can be a bit fussy however she said she would go back. the best thing about the Gran Hotel is it's location you really can't beat it i. the heart of all the restaurants and right on the beach just perfect , we met a friend on night 2 and they said they come 4 times a year for a nice relaxing beak overall i can't say much more as we really did have a great holiday and i would absolutely say download the bolt taxi app you get 4 discounted rides this helps with transfers to and from malaga 28 euros great value we'll Gran hotel keep up the good work and i hope to be back real soon

We've just returned from 7 nts at this hotel, there is nothing to complain about at this hotel, very clean, Wonderful food, huge choices, exceptional seafood selection on the Saturday night, fresh prawns, smoked salmon, muscles etc the staff are lovely and very helpful, full bottle of wine with every meal.Premier Rooms on 6th floor with Seaview and balcony are really lovely, maids come in every day. Hotel is on the beach, plenty of sunbeds available, pool bar has a great selection of drinks, free snacks nuts etc in a plastic cup with drinks, 10 minute walk on left into La Cala Village, beautiful white buildings, selection of bars, restaurants, Unico club on the beach and Los Delfines Beach club are fabulous. Torreon Watch Tower only 2 euros for fantastic views of the whole area. Bus from outside Tourist information office into Fuengirola and Malaga also bus stop under bridge into Marbella and Capobina Beach. The areas are Incredibly clean, no litter or homeless, roads and pavements very well kept. We visited Marbella on the bus only €1.60 per person, Gibraltar day trip is well worth it very interesting. Mijas Pueblo traditional Andalucian white Mountain Village is breathtaking. Wonderful holiday. We paid £300 each for hotel all inclusive, plus Ryan Air flights, 2 suitcases and insurances. Total £1200. Bargain! We will be back ❤️

2 star hotel in a 4 star location, 4 pensioners on a golf holiday asked if we could have a room pool side bear in mind hotel only half full the surly receptionist put us on the top floor with the last 2 rooms furthest from the lift, the hotel had no entertainment the food was bland this hotel hasn’t been updated it’s stuck in the 70s ,shower above bath only worked occasionally but because there is no competition as only major hotel in resort you can like it or lump it ! I wouldn’t stay here again even if they paid me , receptionist was aloof and unwelcome ing , stay here at your peril…

Me and my partner booked here for our first little getaway together. We were sceptical at first due to some recent poor reviews but so glad we ignored them. The hotel itself is very well kept and clean, and we were so happy with the room/balcony we were allocated with views of the beach and nearby mountains. The hotel is a short walk from local town centre with plenty of shops and restaurants (100% recommend Ella’s restaurant nearby)! Also a lidl no more than 10 min walk. Staff were super helpful and customer service was on point, with drinks brought to our tables and plates cleared almost instantly. We did find there was a lack of entertainment but we were out of season. The food was rarely cold, not a huge number of options for the fussier eaters but that’s our fault! Overall had the best stay and would visit again :)
