Nuovo Hotel Playa Catalina

The Hotel needs updating in terms of facilities and accommodations. It was clean in spite of the primitive amenities. Overall the staff was wonderful and totally accommodating. They worked well together and provided excellent service.

Playa Catalina Hotel really surprised me in the best way. It gives you that Punta Cana vibe but in a more local, peaceful area. The beach is just a 5‑minute walk, and having a pool available 24/7 was perfect. The rooms look like little villas — super cute and cozy. What made the stay unforgettable was the staff. I traveled with my elderly dad, and they treated him with so much care. They helped him with his bags, supported him on the stairs, and always checked in on us. Even the security team was friendly and helpful. Everyone there makes you feel like family. I’m so grateful for this experience and will surely make this my go-to hotel in the future. For travelers they only accept cash, so be prepared or call ahead. They have an ATM and can accommodate. They also serve breakfast too, would recommend if you like to have a light breakfast. If not there’s plenty of local restaurants nearby.

The property was okay - it is on a main road so it can get quite noisy. The only negative we had was when we checked in. We were told that the machines were not working and we would have to pay in cash. We were told that the owner was looking to sell and she was only wanting cash. We did not enough in US dollars so the management wanted basically the equivalent in Euros. It was late and there was no point in haggling as there were no other places with any room because we were taking a cruise from La Romana port. We had to give in but it was, in my opinion, extortion. We were not given the room unless we paid up front and in full. Held hostage before our trip even began. Not a nice way to start a vacation. The room was ok. Basic but clean. The staff was friendly.

Traffic noise was unbearable. Services were not as advertised. No english speaking staff during the day.

Amazing staff. Very friendly, hotel is very cute and comfortable, room is clean and amenities are handy. Will definitely come here again!

I don’t think I’ve ever given a bad review for a hotel. But I must say the public relations in this particular place is nonexistent always made me feel very uncomfortable.

4/10 Check in: We couldnt pay with creditcard Another stress was I need to check for a code to verify my booking, the bookingnumber was not sufficien. Room: No room service during stay(cleaning) Bathroom was always full water on the floor Breakfast: Terrible!!!!!!!

Place is beautiful. Need Better TV option.
