The island is absolutely wonderful. Beautiful sea and stunning views and snorkelling etc. The resort however is very poorly managed. Our room luckily was in great location but that was just by chance. Many rooms not so good. The shower did not work, the room was never cleaned, - any requests for clean towels etc took ages. The food was buffet and good but it was quite a scrum in the very dingy restaurant with hugely unhelpful staff. A manager was needed in there who could communicate with guests! You could take your plate outside where there was lovely views and occasionally for dinner this was set up for eating but should have been used all the time. Place could be fantastic with proper management. Not looking for plush just good basic. They need to invest in loungers chairs etc. Finally horrible tented site has been built on island. No- one staying at the moment but could really impact negatively on island vibe!

Awesome place. Clear n multiple shades of blue. Mesmerizing beauty, definitely shud take walking tour of island ***** the shore, blessed to watch the bio luminescence in the dark night. Food was tasty and kind people. Very patient n talented instructions and lifeguard in every activity. Overall it’s super cool resort maintained by govt. Hope n wish the island remains the same for decades!

Absolutely stunning ocean views and dreamlike beaches, snorkeling and scuba diving available. Enjoyed my three nights with all-inclusive tasty meals. Must visit in Lakshadweep. Coral Gardens are a must visit for snorkeling and Manta Point for scuba diving

This place is awesome , stayed for 2 nights with family on my birthday. Starting from the wooden cottage , staff is exceptionally helpful . Though it's the only property on the island with limited response staff endured requirements are met and with a smile. Credit goes to the Management. Views are out of the world, beaches are clean, safe and beautiful.

Noting some less than complimentary reviews that IMO sound a bit righteous. This place is a rare, wonderful escape. Having aircon on a place this remote is an achievement. As is the excellent food. The marine life was outstanding. Credit where credit is due. Resort operators could be more wary of "progress" when it comes to tourism, and more rigorous on sustainability. Not all the shoreline is as carefully maintained as the north and east shores, where guests stay and where the water is unbelievable. You'll find a very clear tideline of sun-bleached plastic on the west (sunset) shore especially, and this is a stark reminder to those concerned. As well as a call for action. Maybe guests could be persuaded to join in? A swift half-hour at sundown clearing the beach in return for a free beer and chat with management team on ways to keep this place pristine (recycling etc)!? That stuff isn't going to go away any time soon... We met some great guests while staying. Every day was a joy to swim and take in the infinite blue. Half an hour of activity like that would have felt just fine! How about it, management team? PS We flew in from Bangalore with Indigo Airlines and all flights ran like clockwork. Not the case with Alliance Air.

I could say a lot of things about Bangaram Island Resort. Bangaram Atoll is heavenly and fantastic place but it is maintained like hell. It has enormous potential. all it would take is greater attention to the environment and doing small gestures, such as collecting plastic that comes from the ocean, not throwing rubbish wherever it happens, treating all customers in the same way. We stayed 6 nights in the old part of the resort and we had water coming out of the taps that smelled like sewerage because the purification system used our part hasn't been working for months now. Although our contact person requested a room change, there was nothing that could be done.A positive aspect, the diving center has qualified staff and we had some wonderful dives.

Yes, Bangaram is picture-perfect and the staff is amazingly friendly and helpful! But now to some practical advice, valid as of March 2024: - When disembarking at Agatti airport, keep your boarding card, since the ‘immigration’ office will want to stamp it for entry. - Do not board the plane hungry in Kochi: there is no in-flight service and nothing whatsoever to buy on the way before the next scheduled meal at Bangaram, so no food for 4+ hours. On departure, you will miss breakfast; on one of our trips a simple packed breakfast was served on the boat, on the next occasion it was brought on the boat but not served, so no food until arriving in Kochi city around 2pm. - Bring everything you need, mosquito spray, sun lotion, etc - there are no shops on Bangaram. - Bring snorkeling gear: they rent out gear by the hour but if you like to be flexible, better bring your own. - Tours: best local snorkeling is at ‘coral garden’ to which there are tours, but you can actually swim out there; get someone to point it out can swim. Kayaks are rented out but no serious trips, like around the island or to Tinnakara, are permitted, so it’s for beginners in the bay. - The tap water is sulphuric and smells like rotten eggs, some might get used to it, some not. Note that silver jewelry turns brown, so don’t wear any in the shower. - Rooms are very basic, not corresponding to similar resort prices on the mainland. Bring earplugs: walls are very thin. “Wooden cottages/ new huts” are available as deluxe option at 25k, they offer same standard but are newer and have tap water showers outside after your swim. - Wi-Fi is available at the bar, nowhere else. Cellular coverage is available from BSNL and Airtel. - Alcohol can be purchased at the bar and you can bring it to the dinner table. There is no nightlife whatsoever, just peace and quiet. - Pretty basic but tasty Indian food served in a worn cantine. Dinner is served on the very nice beach front. - A nurse is available on Bangaram, while the nearest clinic is on Agatti.

Superb location, very helpful and friendly staff, good water sport facilities, decent food. On the negative side, room quality was just acceptable, bathroom water had a strong sulphuric smell, the clientele was often rude to staff and entitled, there was no fresh coconut water (even tho it grown abundantly), there needs to be beach litter clean up on the sunset point beach.
