We had booked 2 nights, but after a sleepless night, we left immediately. It is such a shame that everything else was so well organized, yet no attention is paid to the beds. "We stayed here 2 nights and had to leave as jet 2 did nothing to help us. We had to pay out our own pocket to get a decent place to stay .It was absolutely filthy i wouldn’t let a dog sleep on the mattresses! The manager Ben was very rude and told us we had a beautiful room and we were the problem letting it ruin our holiday . Our holiday would have been totally ruined if we had have stayed there ! Also be aware there’s and 8euro fee for the air conditioning every day . Which constantly made a noise . The rooms are so old and dated it was like something from the 1979s . I wouldn’t recommend anyone to here . I certainly wouldn’t sleep on a mattress at home that colour so why would I pay to sleep on one ."

"Very nice hotel with exceptional views of the sea and mountains from the rooms and restaurant. The entire hotel has just been renovated, so everything is modern and very clean. Spacious rooms, especially the "maisonette" suites, which have a large living room area with a large balcony terrace and a bedroom on a mezzanine opening onto the living room. Very large bed with very comfortable bedding, everything is new and of high quality. The paint is white, and the rooms are beautifully decorated, modern and understated. Very large glass shower overlooking the living room!! It's unusual, but you get used to it!!! Just like the sink area, which is actually in the hallway!!! Adults only, thankfully!!! Very nice pool area with pool bar. It's very windy, but I would almost say thankfully, otherwise we wouldn't last given the heat. Very good breakfast and dinner. A buffet of raw vegetables and soup, then the main course (which you choose in the morning, 3 choices) is served at your table. Smiling and very friendly staff. A car is essential because it's far from everything. Very nice relaxing holiday at Maxine Hotel."

The breakfast was excellent too. As a cat lover, I appreciated the colony of cats lurking about who were incredibly friendly and completely gorgeous! The views from the resort were amazing - azure blue sea and stunning mountains."

"This is our 5th visit to Avra. There are steps you need to be aware. However there is nothing else negative to say. The couple running Avra are kind and friendly. We always stay in a room at the top with a sea view. The room is clean, comfy bed, kettle and fridge. Also air conditioning. Shower/shampoo and soap provided, also a hairdryer. It is peaceful but near to town to be accessible (don't forget its hilly!) If you have a big appetite I suggest you order breakfast, it will set you up for the day!! We love it here."

"The apartment is cute and very clean. The owners are friendly, but nothing special. There's no reception. The owners are always in their small shop downstairs. Upon arrival, I was given a bottle of water and shown to my room without any explanation. I had to ask about taxes and check-out procedures. The view from my room was magnificent, overlooking the sea. However, the room temperature is very high, which is a real shame and forces us to use the air conditioning, which costs €8 per day. In my opinion, this is excessively expensive. In 2025, this service should be free! Especially in a country where temperatures are high. The kitchen is clean and functional. It has everything you need. The bedding isn't bad, but it's not great either. The balcony is always in direct sunlight, so it's impossible to enjoy it except in the evening. The hotel's location isn't ideal. At the top of the village, the path down to the sea is very steep, and the climb back up is just as steep. The same goes for the center, which isn't far from the hotel, but has a lot of stairs and very steep streets. This makes getting back a bit tricky. We get a 10% discount at the small shop attached to the hotel. The shop is great; it has everything you need. Parking is very difficult. The street is quite noisy from morning till night. There's no terrace. We were wondering about it with the other hotel guests, but we never found it. Overall, a pleasant stay, but nothing special."
