We had the pleasure of staying at Bonners Lodge this weekend just gone for a golfing trip. What can I say except thank you! Ken and Michelle are the loveliest people we have met in a long-time, from the moment we arrived until the moment we sadly had to leave it was nothing short of amazing! The rooms are amazing, very clean and have everything you could possibly need, including amazing toiletries and the drinks tray was the best I have ever seen, including fresh milk in the fridge along with homemade chocolate brownies! Breakfast again was delightful, local produce and home made soda bread, and a choice of 2 butters! Michelle I have to say went above and beyond, not only taking me my partner and our friends into Consett to the recommended Italian restaurant but picking us all up after our meal, and then again on the Saturday evening dropping us off at the golf club for the evening presentation, now that's what I call dedication and exemplary customer care. Just to add we offered to pay, but Michelle was having no of it... so we donated some cash for her donkey sanctuary. Oh, I didn't mention the animals beautiful stunning scenery, the Donkey, Alpaca's, Sheep and a Horse! IN A NUT SHELL WE CANNOT WAIT TO RETURN... Massive thank you from - Roz, David, Christopher and Christine.

I stayed at Bonners Lodge in my camper van with my 9yr old granddaughter & what a fantastic time we had, We have never been made to feel so welcome at a site by the owners. Also a huge thankyou to Paul who works there, let my granddaughter in the stables to meet & feed the animals & even let her ride the pony. Great time had by both of us , will definitely return.. 5 ⭐️

We took out caravan to the small 8 pitch site situated next to Bonners Lodge and with 360 degree views. From the warmest welcome to the cheeriest farewell we couldn't fault it - even though the start of our week was greeted by continual rain. Michelle and Ken work tirelessly to make sure everyone is happy, facilities are spotless and go above and beyond (whoever got their own bath mat to step from the shower onto?). The menagerie of sheep, goats, alpacas, donkey and horse all added to the charm - no visiting children were on iPads here, Michelle had them up and out riding Ray the adorable donkey or walking the sheep on leads, whatever the weather. Even my husband got roped in! Evenings were peaceful and quiet. For those who wanted it there's a games room with table tennis, pool, dvds, books, TV, games, toys, and an indoor equipped kitchen. We'll definitely be back.

I've just about lost count of the number of visits we've made this year. I think it was five. I've also lost count of the number of years that we've been coming here to Bonners Lodge. That could be five as well. That completely sums up this place. Once you discover it, you keep coming back. It is without doubt the very best B&B that we've stayed at in the UK and we have stayed at some good ones over the years. But Bonners is way ahead for comfort, charm, welcome and the food. There is peace and quiet - curlews, hares, grouse, pheasants, owls, rabbits, hedgehogs - nature surrounds you with splended views. And it's close enough to a range of outstanding pubs to fill in those odd corners. You will not be spoilt for things to do even if the weather takes a poor turn. It is always a pleasure to turn into that last short stretch of lane between the fields to be welcomed by Michelle and Ken. We're looking forward to booking for next year now!

Fantastic little campsite! We stayed for 3 nights as it was close to Beamish museum (20min drive) however the site was an attraction itself- my daughters LOVED all the animals and Michelle was so kind and patient, telling them all about the animals and letting them pet & walk them. The site was immaculate & the shower better than my own at home! Thanks for having us we’ll be back!

This is probably the best campsite we have ever stayed at. Our 10 year old loved riding the donkey as well as walking the goats, sheep and alpacas. The games room is excellent with table football, table tennis and pool at no additional cost plus lots of other games. There is an oven, microwave, cooker can kettle you can use in the games room which can come in handy. Two of the pitches are fully fenced in, which would be great if you had a dog. All pitches have a picnic bench. The location itself is peaceful with some great wood carvings around the pitches. The owners are very friendly and helpful. The shower facilities are excellent - lovely and warm without a silly button you have to press every 5 seconds - will be back again.

The title says it all. We can't keep away from what in our experience is the best B&B in the UK. It ticks every possible box. Extremely comfortable accommodation, delightful hosts and friendly animals, delicious meals and quiet - it is just so relaxing. Yet convenient for sightseeing - the Waskerley W, ay is nearby, Beamish Museum about 20 mins awayDurham about 35 mins away, Hadrian's Wall and the coast at Seaham less than an hour. There is just so much to do and it is difficult to find the time to fit it all in. Plus also excellent restaurants and pubs in the area which we are happy to keep visiting. But above all, it is Michelle and Ken who make Bonners Lodge what it is and they put a tremendous amount of effort into making their guests happy. Long may they continue to do so!
