Sunset Bay Cottage

A secluded retreat on the picturesque Tanjung Rhu beach. Direct access to the sea, a BBQ area, and a shelter for rented scooters. Water, coffee, and tea were replenished daily. This accommodation is perfect for those looking to slow down and find solitude. The hostess is a very pleasant woman; she even helped me find medication I'd left at another hotel. The beach directly in front of the property isn't suitable for swimming due to many rocks. You need to walk about 100 meters to the right, but be careful – my husband was stung by a jellyfish there, and there are quite a few on Langkawi. A staff member immediately provided first aid, washed the sting with vinegar, and recommended the nearest clinic.

Great location, very natural, birds singing. If you want privacy and relaxation, this is the place to be. The room was perfectly clean, the hotel grounds were well-maintained, the bed was comfortable, and the blanket was nice. The owner was very nice. If we ever come back, we'll definitely stay at this hotel again!

I liked the hotel and the room. Everything is not new, and it is visible, but everything is taken care of, and it is also visible. Grocery stores are nearby, a good inexpensive cafe is nearby and there is a bike rental without a deposit! The hotel is on the seashore, the sea near the hotel is not suitable for swimming, BUT if you stand facing the sea and go to the right, then, literally, around the corner is a great beach! In the first half of the day the passage is flooded, but it is shallow and you can walk there, and in the second half of the day the sea goes away and the passage opens up on dry land. The only significant drawback is that there is not a single surface in the bathroom where you can put small items. At least nail a shelf above the sink!

We stayed from 1.05 to 5.05, and then extended until 7.05. Briefly: if you want privacy, no people, a beautiful beach, then this is the place for you.

The bicycles provided to guests were old and rusty and had broken brakes. After checking in at noon, I asked the hotel staff if they would provide bicycles, and then I used the bicycle they provided to go out at about 5 p.m. I tried riding it in the hotel first, and then found that the handbrake failed, and I fell and bruised my calf at the door of the hotel. After I wiped the wound with a tissue, I couldn’t find any staff nearby (usually they don’t have staff to serve after noon). After careful inspection, I found that the bicycle was very rusty. I was worried that my wound would be infected, so I contacted the person in charge of the hotel to find a solution. The method also asked me if I could provide a band-aid to stop the bleeding because I injured my leg while riding a bicycle. The person in charge just apologized that his bicycle could not be used, but ignored my injury and said nothing about it. He said that there was no one in the hotel and could not provide any help. Even the most basic humanitarian care and help are not provided, and his character is really low. When staying in this cottage, if something unexpected happens, you can only hope for the best. Even if the accident is caused by an out-of-control bicycle provided by the hotel, the hotel should be fully responsible. I tried to contact the local tourism management department to complain, but I couldn't find a channel and had to give up. PS: Unless requested one day in advance, this hotel does not provide room cleaning services, and no services are provided after noon. After the only room service, I found that the two trash cans in the room were not cleaned. After questioning, I actually replied "forgot". Objectively speaking, the location here is quiet and the beach is acceptable, but please choose another hotel next to it. Its environment and decoration layout are undoubtedly much better. There are many more Western tourists, and this hotel is among the three hotels I stayed in. There was only about half occupancy rate at night. The room was clean and tidy, the staff was very enthusiastic, and it was very quiet. It was a good place to relax, definitely beyond my expectations. The only thing I was a little worried about was that stray dogs appeared from time to time on the beach, and it seemed that the whole town was like this. Although there was no behavior that hurt people, families with children still need to pay attention.
