Agriturismo le Baccane

The family running this was amazing! Loved getting to know their story and learn about the vineyard. Guest houses were great and comfortable. And the food was outstanding!

The place itself is nice but when we got there there was no one there and we waited for an hour. We even tried calling and no one answered. The room was absolutely terrible!!! There was a extremely strong sewage smell coming from the bathroom and we spent the night with all the windows open because we were about to throw up. It was an awful night we didn't get much sleep. Also they have a brick floor with no rugs so your feet don't feel comfortable there. Additionally, there were lots of bugs in the room and we don't think it has been used for a while and my wife was itching the next morning. Usually we got free breakfast at all the other agriturismos but this one charged us 10 euros each. The breakfast was good but this was the most expensive place that we stayed and it was the worst. I'm surprised they didn't give us a discount when I told them about the issues. They didn't seem to care.

Don’t believe the pictures. Or the pitch. The place is VERY tired, the staircase is terrifying and feels unsafe. Like EasyJet, there are hidden costs: 20 Euros “towel fee”; 15 Euros for breakfast. Cats everywhere, including on dining tables, so if you are allergic, forget about it. Thin walls so you can hear clearly everything your neighbors are up to. And hospitable is not the best word to describe the owners. When we complained—about no one leaving a key because our plane was late and we couldn’t arrive before ten pm, and we called twice to tell them and were told it’d be fine—we were told we had “bad behavior,” and that there were “cameras everywhere,” and that we’d be reported to Trip Advisor and bad guests. Then they stuck us with an 240 Euro bill for one night’s sleep—we left before our second night because energy and the state of the place and the reception were so off-putting. I would not take children there; they might wind up with tetanus. I travel for a living and this is perhaps the worst place I have ever stayed—and that’s saying something. I’m sure they will respond to this. But read the other one-star reviews. You’ll see ours is not a one-off experience. The people who rate it excellent must be high.

Beautiful place with great food! There are so many things around to see, we never saw pigeon penguins before! Also goats, pony and donkeys. Dinner was amazing! We had cacio e Pepe, some pork, salad and potatoes, served with the delicious house red wine. Definitely would come back and stay more days.
