Lastingham Grange ★★★

"We have just had Sunday lunch here and it was excellent. 5 courses with tea or coffee to follow all for £38 each. It was extremely good value, with an excellent menu, and such large portions which were all absolutely delicious. As previous reviews have said, it is like taking a step back in time regarding the furnishings and decorating but that all adds to the charm of the Grange. The service from the two gentlemen was impeccable and both were charming and really on the ball with service. We will definitely return next time we are visiting the Moors again."

April Cottage ★★★

White Horse Farm Inn ★★★

YHA Whitby ★★★★

The Royal Oak ★★★

"Excellent 3 night stay at the Royal Oak at Gillamoor, we believe there had a recent change of management & chef. We found all the staff attentive & welcoming, special mention to Frankie & Alice who were both helpful & knowledgable about the local area . The food (breakfast & evening meals) were of good quality, tasty & well presented, would like to see the menu expand. Our accommodation (Willow room) was in the adjacent cottage, rooms had recently been refurbished to a high standard, comfortable bed & excellent shower. We were told other rooms in the pub are also in line for upgrading over the next 12 months. We did suggest on leaving that they upgrade the quality of toilet tissue in the rooms but as our only negative it was only a small negative. The Royal Oak is well placed to explore the North Yorkshire moors, with some local walks on the doorstep too. We would stay again without hesitation & recommend to friends too. 😁"

The Old Manse - Pickering ★★★★

"We were made to feel very welcome, a cup of tea on arrival and they had gone to the trouble of finding a suitable space for us to store our bikes."

Cross Keys by Chef & Brewer Collection ★★★

"Simple, clean room. Can't open windows too far though and no A/C but does the job. Friendly staff and reasonable price"

The Cornmill ★★★

"lovely two night stay, great hosts, lovely check in and check out , superb room , room 1, all you could need apart from a working TV remote, a minor point and mentioned at checkout Breakfast is to order, and fresh, so expect a few minutes wait if the breakfast room is busy, but a splendid selection and a hearty cooked to set you up for the day Town centre is 10/15 minutes walk away, but check closing times of the few eateries, it will be quite early"
