Unique Atmosphere: Guests repeatedly mentioned the chateau’s ability to transport them to another era, describing their stay as a 'journey through time.' The property’s historical charm and tranquil environment were key highlights for many.

This is a wonderful hotel situated in the heart of the Gorge du Tarn, sympathetically renovated to retain all the charm of the old chateau. The staff were amazing, so friendly and helpful. The food in the restaurant was excellent as was the service. Our waiter was extremely knowledgeable about the food, the wine and the surrounding area, he was a pleasure to chat to. I highly recommend this hotel.

We previously stayed here under former owner operators of this hotel. clearly things had changed and service levels are not as good as previously. Being a very hot day the pool was a welcome relieve but the poolside bar not operating and no idea how to get a drink. Dinner on the terrace was very pleasant but late afternoon we're told the bar didn't open until dinner time - odd for a 4 star hotel. The rooms historic if a little tired. The breakfast buffet adequate but uninspired. Dinner was fine and dishes well prepared and presented. Value for money is questionable as the place is expensive. Being only open seasonally it's probably hard to get, train and retain staff....and it shows. Despite all the above we did have a pleasant stay and interactions with staff were fine.

So very beautiful. Dinner was spectacular. Our room was very comfortable. We would suggest a shower curtain around the bathtub shower.

We had booked a junior suite for our final night and it was wonderful! Overlooking the swimming pool and the river Tarn. Very modern and clean. Spacious too. Meals could become an issue as same menu every night so options were limited. Sadly, on our final breakfast prior to leaving there was limited choice as some foods were out of stock e.g no bread baguette and the waitress was very abrupt with us where all other staff had been courteous and polite.

A beautiful chateau with wonderful scenic surroundings and the river Tarn flowing alongside. A short walk from the chateau leads you down to the river’s edge where there is a pebble/sand beach. Again a lovely setting. Would have loved a seat there to enjoy the river and watching kayakers go by. This is one chateau I would return to again, and probably again! Loved it here. 😍

The chateau is in a magnificent position at the bottom of a steep gorge and next to a river. It. Is a 13th century chateau completely unspoiled from the outside. On arrival we could find nobody at all so wandered around for 15 minutes until we heard voices. Our room was in the converted maison in the grounds and was very spacious, with a sitting area inside, a balcony and modern bathroom and toilet. There is a very pleasant pool just by this additional maison, with plenty of shade, trees and parasols. Getting a drink before dinner was challenging as despite the barman being there he seemed uninterested in providing 2 G&Ts and took 3 requests before we got enough ice. Dinner was a disaster, apart from the 5 wasps that buzzed us constantly, the veal was an undercooked lump, and there were very unpleasant looking smears of purple beetroot purée and orange carrot purée, with what appeared to be small blobs of poo but may have been anchovy in view of their saltiness. The Sancerre wine was dreadful despite the price, and after 1 glass each we left it for whoever wanted it! The owner needs to spend time here tasting the meals provided, and get someone with the necessary to provide a decent wine list. These are my husband's comments and he is a hotel manager with 50 years experience and also was a Michelin Guide inspector.

Whilst the location and views are stunning, the service left a lot to be desired. There was a huge problem with flies at dinner, every diner was complaining, but the staff just didn’t care and said there was nothing they could do. There were no fly traps to be seen and yet flies were crawling over the buffet breakfast the next day. My husband asked for his steak saingnant (rare) and it was at least medium. They refused to do anything about it, and basically told him he was wrong. The waitress was bordering on rude. I can’t fault the rooms, fantastic deep bath that’s great for two, with nice but not special toiletries. The pool area is lovely, but the hot tub which used to be free is now €38/30m per person! And there are strict signs about one pool towel only per person. That doesn’t welcome a guest paying a hefty room rate.
