Logis - Hôtel & Restaurant du Tribunal

The hotel is beautiful and set on a very pretty square one minute from the high street. The rooms are decorated in a classic style with quirkie twists, very comfortable. The staff are helpful, smiley and informative so it really feels homely. The restaurant is also very attractive and nice. If you are sick of impersonal hotel chains, this is for you.

This hotel has a beautiful setting, in a tree lined square. Everything as you want to find in France. The reception, lovely and inviting. The male reception member we dealt with more than helpful, a credit to the hotel. So far, excellent. We had booked a Comfort room, at 137.50 euro. The room was somewhat of a disappointment. Not large by any means, the television small and sat on a high shelf, the tea tray had no cups, other than paper cups (for hot drinks) no milk, no tea spoons, other than wooden “fast food” stirrers…….this in a quality hotel at 137 euro a night….very poor standard. I obtained the cups, etc, after asking at reception for them. Where is the safe, or refrigerator….there aren’t any. Glasses in the bathroom…no, cheap paper cups again! The bathroom, well the shower has a hand held spray at the side of the bath….no attachment at body height to use it to shower. Am I expected to be a contortionist to get a shower? One of the two towel hangers on the wall were hanging loose, and the bath towels were on the small side. Certainly not luxury. And, not that I want to look at the underside of a toilet seat, but it was clearly yellow and stained…and this at a room costing 137 euro. I stayed in a Logis the previous night at 69 euro with better facilities. Are they cost cutting but keeping prices high? On the good news, the bed was comfortable! So we reserved a table for an evening meal. The main draw factor being the dining room is delightful. It had to be worth trying. That was fine…..until the cheese course which at 9 euro extra….was preselected by the hotel as “local” cheese .….no cheese choice / cheese trolley to choose from. This is not best quality, and the cheese was unremarkable. Wine, the base price at 38 euro….are you encouraging guests at these prices? Well, I choose a wine at that price, but it’s “unavailable “ so it was a Chablis at 48 euro. I was asked if I wanted breakfast, at a far from value 18 euro a head….I decided against it. Would I stay here again, no, not until the room prices reflect what is offered. You are paying for a beautiful old hotel, which was not reflected in the room. This review is from a client who has stayed at many, many hotels around the world, and indeed lived in South West France for 10 years. Disappointing.

welcoming staff, well appointed room and good linen. Bar area small and crowded at times. Easy parking outside hotel under the trees. Food very good; wine list extensive and expensive.

Beautiful town, lots of history, great shops, excellent cafes, hotel Tribunal was first class and in great location

My wife and I stayed one night at Le Tribunal in transit from Ile de Re to Eurotunnel.Although there is free parking in front of the hotel it was full and we had to park in a street round the back.A minor problem.We were greeted by a very smart and friendly male receptionist who gathered up our very heavy suitcases and carried them up a very narrow spiral staircase to our room.We had a suite which was far more than we really needed but we splashed out for our last night.It was huge and well equipped and had an equally huge bathroom. We ate in the restaurant and had a really good meal.Service is old school formal but all done with a friendly smile. Breakfast buffet choice was excellent. Altogether a very high quality establishment with excellent hospitality from well trained and friendly staff.

Charming old hotel (upstairs rooms not suitable for those with mobility issues). Very comfortable. Staff extremely friendly, helpful and welcoming. Unfortunately, restaurant quality and disjointed service disappointing eg veal overcooked and chewy, mackerel under cured and also chewy. Service, though friendly, was haphazard eg had to ask for wine list and wine came after starters; aperitif and canapés not served together
