Only two toilets and two bath in the whole hostel(doesn't distinguish male or female), the room was crazy freezing at night even though I turned the heater to its max power. The duvet was not clean and made me felt itchy. Considering The gap between booking a room in normal hotel and single room here is less than 10 pounds, I strongly recommend to choose the former option.

I traveled alone but got the chance to meet interesting people, talking with them and sharing our own stories and ideas. What precious experience! Recommend the lovely house.

It was a good experience. Six girls share a room and the bathrooms are upstairs.

Good accommodation, suitable for the price, not far from the train station and shopping areas.

Do not stay here- especially if you’re female. Me and my friends booked 4 beds in the female dorm, we didn’t actually end up staying the night because we felt so uncomfortable and unsafe. The manager who checked us in was inappropriate, condescending, and aggressive. As soon as he opened the door to us he spoke to us in a manner that felt like we were being told off, even though we hadn’t done anything. He told us the charge for the night was £180, when i questioned it and showed him my booking confirmation stating a charge of £108 he got defensive. Eventually he confirmed it was £108, and we paid the £108 for the rooms. Through out the whole check in experience he belittled us, making comments about how we were dressed and our hair colour. When I asked where the car park was and he went to show me, my friends followed me and he turned around and shouted at them not to follow us (they did anyway luckily). He told me to read the hostel rules and then to read them out to my friends, he made me feel so uncomfortable. He explained to us that if the rules were broken there would be consequences- this was done in a very threatening manner which is not suitable when checking in guests. He mentioned several times that the whole place was under surveillance and that he would “catch us”. He also kept saying that if my friends broke the rules i would have to pay for damages as the booking was in my name- the way he said this made us feel like we were little children being told off, we’re all in our late twenties, again very condescending and passive aggressive. Also it’s as if he was accusing us of breaking rules when we had only been at the hostel a few minutes. He then took us into the room- which was okay for the price, but did smell a bit odd. After checking in we all collectively decided that we would not be staying there, main reason being we didn’t feel safe, especially since the man had the code to our room. We didn’t ask for a refund or tell them as we didn’t want to have to speak to that man again. We’ve all stayed in hostels all over the world and are not naive or high maintenance, but this was the worst experience we’ve ever had. After reading the rest of the reviews, I'm glad we didn’t stay here as it’s apparent this man uses his position to intimidate female travellers, he even sleeps right outside the female dorm and also has a drinking problem. I doubt he would treat male guests the same. But please do not stay here if you’re a woman, this man is a creep and it is not safe. The hostel replied to my friends review saying we left a bad review because we had to share the dorm with another woman- this is a lie, we knew from the beginning that we would have to share the dorm. If our check in experience hadn’t been so awful we would of stayed here.

Decent. I arrived by train after midnight so I was apprehensive about whether I’d get in. The interaction before was a little strange because the email replies I received were in broken English with short 1 word answers, but on arrival it was easy to get access, clean, I slept very well and found the kitchen and shower area clean and decent. I’d use it again for a little solo stay.

If you want to experience reverse racism, transphobia and a good deal of religious bigotry then stay here . I was relocated to another Leeds hotel from this hostel for my own safety because of the receptionist dislike of white, disabled and trans/lgbt people by *******- **********

Stayed for one night in a private room mainly because of the cost & location. I’d read a few reviews prior to my visit so was reasonably prepared. The manager is ‘different’ - I found him okay but others may find his attitude & demeanour a bit intense. The room itself was okay, basic but reasonably clean. I found my bed comfortable & actually slept very well. The separate toilet (one floor up) didn’t flush properly & I decided not to use the shower in the morning. There was toast, cereal & hot drinks available in the morning. The place overall is fairly basic but the price compared to the cost of a hotel is good & the location excellent too. Having chatted to the manager I deemed him okay personally but others find him very different. He’s been there a long time & probably needs a change in his life direction.
