Good value for money, convenient transportation, friendly service staff. There are many restaurants around, as well as saintsbury's supermarket. Soundproofing is average.

This hotel was awful. The walls were paper thin so could hear everything going on around you. The window in our room was broken so we couldn't shut it. The shared bathroom was vile. Filthy! Honestly just pay that bit extra and go somewhere else.

TERRIBLE is an UNDERSTATEMENT !!! This was the worst hotel I have EVERR stayed in. There was a leak in the bathroom ceiling which was constantly dripping along with mould on the ceiling. Dirt in the bath. The walls had so many water marks and the room doesn’t look like it’s been cleaned or painted in atleast 20 years. Checked out early as would catch something in that shower . OVERALL NOT IMPRESSED !

Stepping in to the hotel I was greeted by a very friendly receptionist. I guess she was the one who arranged the towels artistically on the bed - nice. As I went up the stairs I noticed the disgustingly dirty carpet, & was greeted with the overpowering smell of cheap air freshener. As I opened the bedroom door I was hit with a wall of air freshener, mixed with the (very) cold air rushing in from the wide open window, all mixing with the overwhelming stench of "drains" - hence the air freshener & the open window. I had stepped in to Tracey Emin's latest immersive arts experience "The 5hyte Hotel". It was so realistic - the black mould in the bedroom & the bathroom. The stinking shower drain, that smelt so bad I couldn't even take a shower. The dangerous light fitting next to the shower. The 2 radiators that didn't work. The cracking, peeling plaster. The filthy carpet. The broken furniture. The curtains that were too short for the window. The mashup of wall paint. The list goes on, & on, & on. NB The towels & sheets were nice & clean. The mattress topper was clean - apart from the horrible stain!! What really make Emin's work stand out is the detail - the empty meat packaging in the bin! The 3 *** & AA sign at the front door - nice touch to read "self accredited" lofl!! Sadly, this was not an art installation, it was real life. Shockingly bad. What could/should have been a nice, clean, small, basic room was a disgusting health risk, that makes me ashamed to think, as a Yorkshireman, that visitors to the sacred cricket ground of Headingly. may well stay at this hovel (no offence to hovels). This "hotel" should be closed down!

This is not a hotel its more like a hostel for the homeless or drug abusers!!!as we entered the place a guy asked us if we had cocaine for sale!!!when we mentioned it too the owner she knew who he was and stayed there!!we got a quick look at our room, which was very tiny and extremely dirty, the towels provided had stains on them!!u had to use the toilet and shower in the hall way because didn't have one in your room, these were both used by everyone staying there!the ceiling in the room was all bubbled from water damaged and coving was hanging off, we felt very unsafe there and left!it is nothing like the pictures on the website it's just disgusting hence the cheap price!the carpark isn't antly better and has potholes the size of fish ponds so have to be very careful not too damage your vehicle... I chose this place because off its location to the rugby stadium and like I said looks OK on website, do not book this place you would rather sleep in your car!!!

I will start off by saying that the rating I'm giving is based on the fact I only paid just over £30 a night for my single room with a private bathroom. Good: - Wonderful staff, very welcoming and pleasant. - Lovely cooked breakfast, well worth the extra price. - Had a working TV in the room and the room was very cosy. - Bed was clean and comfortable (albeit a bit creaky) Bad: - Lots of black mould in the bathroom, thankfully I am not asthmatic and only booked a stay for 2 nights. - Massive cracks in bathroom sink. - Wet floor by bed when I first walked in. Not sure where this came from. - Room in need of some serious TLC. Peeling flooring and wallpaper. - The hallway smelt strongly of smoke and the room itself smelt musty. - I could hear all noise and conversations from next door and upstairs (I was based on the ground floor). Thankfully I brought my earplugs(!) - The window was stiff and not very secure. - I nearly fell off the wobbly toilet seat.

Very dirty and in great need of repair, updating and decorating, shower too mouldy to use, couldn't use the sink to wash due to it being cracked, very, very! steep narrow steps. Staff very pleasant just such a shame about the condition of the hotel

Room was in a poor state with very tired mattress, bed side light not working and hardly any water coming out of the taps. While budget accommodation, I would not recommend staying in the single room I was given and represented poor value. The communal shower was also not great, although was warm enough.

This place is one of the worst I have ever stayed, its like a cross between a bail hostel and a squat. Filthy carpets, unsafe wiring unhygienic showers and toilets, there are burn marks on the bedside table which wasn't needed as the bedside lamp wasn't working anyway. Paper thin walls, tiny cramped rooms, There was a sign in my room."this room is ready for cleaning" it should have been amended to "This room is ready for fumigating and burning". They have the place next door called "The Butlers Hotel" (possibly for a tax dodge?) It's all one building knocked into one, so don't fall for that one ! coming back at night it has all the charm and welcome of Bates Motel. Avoid like death.
