I recently stayed at Who’d A Thought It and was thoroughly disappointed. Despite the hefty price of £470 for the room and £160 for dinner, the experience was far from luxurious. Both my partner and I fell ill a few hours after consuming oysters from the so-called ‘oyster and champagne bar,’ which was supposed to be a highlight of the stay. The room itself was in a state of disrepair, with the jacuzzi filthy and filled with grit, indicating a serious lack of proper cleaning and maintenance. For over £600, the experience was a rip-off. The entire place feels outdated, from the decor to the service, which was awkward and downright weird at times. The price suggests a high-end boutique stay, but in reality, it’s more of a dated, underwhelming experience that’s nowhere near worth the money. I’ve since called three times to resolve this issue and followed up with two emails, yet I have not received a single response from the establishment. This level of customer service—or lack thereof—only adds to the disappointment. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone, as there are far better, more reasonably priced options elsewhere.
