We’re just back from a Neilson package holiday to Le Menuire Hotel & Spa. With taking twin toddlers we were a bit anxious but what a week we had! Yes, the room decor and layout was a bit tired but honestly, the food, the staff, the creche were amazing! I can’t thank Kara, Lic and Erin enough for the most amazing experience they gave our girls and Anastasia in the restaurant. Our ONLY gripe was that the pool was SO cold! It is a great pull to the hotel but to take little ones in, they were shivering after 5-10minutes! It would have been lovely to sit in the hot tub area after a long day skiing but it was just unbearably cold!

The staff and hotel position within the resort are very good. Food was excellent with good portion sizes, restaurant staff very friendly as were reception and the 2 Neilson reps. Only negatives are the hotel really is in need of updates, it's very tired looking, the carpet in our room had frayed edges and the toilet is separate from the bathroom with no sink, so you have to wash your hands in another room! Not for me... and lastly, it's COLD! even though the radiator in our room had a thermostat, it made no difference as clearly the heating is on a general timer and didn't get even remotely hot until around 8pm. The bar has a lovely fire, but even that couldn't warm up the area.

Les Menuires is not one of the liveliest places in Les Trois Vallees and all the better for that I say. It is considerably cheaper than and not as pretty as its swanky neighbours Courchevel and Meribel but it provides great access to all the valleys if you have a ski pass for the whole area. And Saint-Martin-de-Belleville further down the valley is a lovely alpine village. So the Le Menuire Chalet Hotel and Spa provides an excellent base. Let's not pretend it is ski in/ski out. It may just achieve this after a heavy snow fall but when we visited in March it was well below the snow line. In consequence, the muddy path from the boot room round to the front of the hotel is something of a let down and could do with some attention. But there is a free bus service every 20 minutes from outside the hotel to the Croisette from where one can head in any direction on skis. I cannot agree with Lee W about the lack of boot driers - there are plenty to go around now. Perhaps they have installed some more. However, the boot room could do with some attention - it does not match the quality of the rest of the hotel. Having got the negatives out of the way let's give praise where it is due. Members of staff without exception are amazing. Friendly, helpful and with a can't do enough for you attitude. Rooms are a good size for a ski hotel with comfortable beds and quality toiletries. The pool/spa area is fantastic. Breakfast is a buffet affair with plenty of choice and dinners are wholesome. There is always a vegetarian option and gluten and lactose intolerances are catered for. I suppose the ultimate test for a hotel is the question 'Would you go back?' and my answer would be an unreserved 'Yes'.

The staff and hotel were fantastic. Nothing was too much trouble. They were cheerful and helpful at all times and worked hard to make sure our needs were catered to. The room was spacious, comfortable and cosy. The hotel bar although compact and not really enough seating, had the advantage of making sure guests mixed as they were seated together. There was a variety of board games and the quiz and disco bingo were well attended and good fun.The pool area was large enough with loungers dotted around and although we didn’t use the sauna it looked very nice and had a great view. Boot room was conveniently located and the local free shuttle bus stopped right outside the hotel with a regular service. The only issue we could comment on was beyond the hotel’s control, namely the infrequent free bus service to the linked Val Thorens ski area( not part of the local Les Menuires shuttle service) ,which if you are lacking snow in Les Menuires and not the most confident to make it over the mountain on skis, provides an alternative route to the wider ski area. However this service only runs at 8.40, 9.55, then a huge gap with no further bus to Val Thorens until 13.25. Coming back the options were 13.50, 17.10 or 19.00 so not great for tired legs later in the day. This isn’t the fault of the hotel but it was also frustrating to find there was no bus to Val Thorens at all on a Saturday. Perhaps this is something Neilson can lobby the local council about. This is a minor frustration in an otherwise lovely week. We really cannot fault the hotel at all and would like to thank Dimitri and his team for a great holiday. Well done everyone.

Endless paience from lovely restaurant staff, great childcare programme ( thank you) and early home cooked dinner for young ones. Mountain view from bedroom which was styled in a lot of brown. Pool and spa a real treat after a day on well prepared slopes

I was very nervous before this holiday as it was the first time I would be leaving my 10 month old baby in a creche, so I'm hoping this review will help reassure others who were in a similar position to me before coming to the hotel. We were met by the Creche manager, Ella, who was fantastic. We communicated our baby's usual sleep and food routine, and the creche staff made sure they stuck to it as best as they could. I received updates throughout the day of how my baby was getting on with his naps/milk/food, as well as photos of my baby out and about. Each day the staff planned a different excursion for the babies, from having a trip on a Gondola, to visiting the local soft play, and even heading out for a babychinno! The creche itself was great with so many toys for my baby to play with. I genuinely think he had a better time there then he normally does with me at home. The staff ratio at the creche was 1 staff member to 2 babies, so I felt very reassured that he would be looked after. It's also worth saying all the staff were English. Special shout out to Ella, Ella and Kattie who were all so lovely, professional, and great with babies. The hotel itself is great - pretty much ski in/out if the snow allows! It could do with some TLC inside but to be honest, the exceptional creche made up for this. All in all, a fab first holiday and I can highly recommend for anyone thinking about booking with their baby.

A very friendly hotel - exclusively Neilson guests. Lovely staff - interestingly they are all Greek. Great cooked breakfast every morning. Fresh cakes at 4.30 each afternoon, and a three course meal in the evening. Though it isn't officially "ski-in ski-out", you can put your skis on within 25 yards of the rear door, and in the evening you can ski down to the edge of the coach park opposite. The pool and sauna provide excellent relaxation at the end of a day on the slopes. And of course the resort overall is well connected into the more famous 3-valleys resorts of Val Thorens and Meribel. We had one day of rain becoming heavy snow, but the following days were glorious. For the best slopes, venture over into Orelles.

This hotel was our base for a ski trip with group of friends. The hotel suited our group because of the Neilson child care option. The staff were excellent, nothing was too much trouble for them. The food was good and the hotel's location was excellent for accessing the lift system. The ski area is extensive so is well served by the lifts and snow sure due to its location. The hotel itself was looking a little tired but does get a lot of use, this did not detract from our holiday.

Just returned from a week in this hotel. We booked a family 'suite' with 2 teenagers as we thought the lounge area would give us somewhere to relax at the end of the day. The room was advertised as being 'under the eaves' but we did not realise this would mean there is not a window you can see out of. In the double room there is a velux window at high level with the blind stuck across the window and curtains that did not open. There was also a 20cm square window that was well above head height. The 2nd bedroom had the same windows. We did ask to move rooms immediately after arrival but were offered a room with 4 beds in which would be very cramped with teenagers. We soon nicknamed our room 'the cell'. The sheets were scratchy and very worn, after my son was bitten half way through the week, we asked for all the sheets to be changed. The 2 bunk beds in the 2nd bedroom were far too small for teenagers and my son slept with his feet hanging off the bed all week. The main bedroom also has an awful shower in it which cannot be seen in the pictures. The televisions had been removed in both bedrooms. The 'lounge' was 2 single beds which were very uncomfortable, there was a kettle and mugs but no tea or coffee. The tv did no offer any english channels. The toilet door did not close, there was a large stain on the carpet and black dirt/mould behind the toilet door. The bar area was too small for the number of guests so there was often not enough seats. The public toilets were like a service station. The water in the spa pool was cold and so it was difficult to spend much time in. The plus sides were the food was mostly good and the majority of staff were friendly although we were rushed through our dinner most evenings. It is a 300m walk to get on to the piste although you can nearly ski back to the hotel when there is enough snow. This hotel is for families with young children who want to take advantage of the free childcare during the day and evening. We would not recommend for anyone without young children. For the 12k price tag we could not believe how awful the room and majority of facilities were.
