Accra Beach Hotel

The location was brilliant. Right on accra beach which in my opinion was the best beach in barbados. Just down the end of the beach you had the tiki bar, sells great food and cocktails. Location was close to st Lawrence gap and not too far from oistins which was an amazing experience for the fish friday. Service wasn't great so only decided to eat at the hotel once. Took us an hour and a half to get our food! Others in the restaurant were complaining about the service too. Other than that they provided me with a spare room to shower and change at 6pm when I had already checked out at 12 which I was quite shocked and grateful for. All in all I really enjoyed my stay and kind of used the hotel for location and it's amazing beach.

Accra’s location is the best. So many options around to dine plus it’s easily accessible to many of the tourist attractions. There is a supermarket right in front which is very convenient. The boardwalk is just 5 minutes walk and it’s one of the most peaceful places.

Out here for my daughters 16th birthday and I must say the hotel staff and the manager suresh have made her birthday so wonderfully special. I can not thank them enough!! From check in Justin was a warm welcoming face a lovely room on split levels for our family of four , two teenage children my wife and myself. All the bar staff have been fabulous Kristen,silvester,Fabian shack and turtle to mention a few !! Also the restaurant staff and housekeepers have been welcoming and friendly throughout. We are returning guests and we will continue to return, I really want to take this opportunity to thank suresh for the fantastic hospitality and service to make my daughter’s birthday one she will never forget.

The resort was clean and inviting. I appreciated that the beach wasn’t overcrowded as it was exclusively accessible to only a few resorts. When I needed service in my room for the air, the staff arrived in a matter of minutes. I appreciated that. I was disappointed in the buffet. It was expensive and lacking variety. The pancakes were cold and items were missing. I mentioned my disappointment that same day at the time of checkout and asked would they take a small portion of the charge off for the buffet service ($24 of the $75 paid) and they said I should have taken it up with someone in the restaurant. I told them I figured they were all connected so I can address it there and they said I would have to walk back over to the restaurant to report my concern. I wasn’t willing to do that so I let it go. I will say that the staff member I was communicating with was friendly about it, trying to let me down easy to some extent. However there was one particular woman who should not be working in hospitality services. She was the only white woman working behind the desk. Unfortunately I did not get her name. She was the only person I encountered on the entire island that was rude and mildly disrespectful. I’ve never experienced someone like her working in that capacity. I don’t know if she was a manager or not but I do know she’s in the wrong business. I had 3 encounters with her and none were positive. She made me feel like I was getting on her nerves for asking questions. Her level of customer service bought my rating of this resort down from a 4 to a 3. She really needs some customer service training.

I booked a group event. The reviews from my clients were mixed and reflected in the rating I have given. They noted the staff was friendly and the location of the resort was great. All of the guests commented about the need for a remodel. The dated rooms and facilities are showing their sign of age. The feedback on the food was generally good. My main concern with Accra isn't the resort itself, it is the integrity of its management team and support staff. I bought a good bit of business to Accra through the group bookings, however after 7 months of un-returned calls and emails to several individuals in their back office and management chain, I still have yet to be paid for my services. The lack of professionalism and integrity is beyond any other hotel or resort I have worked with over my 15 year career. I will never book another client's accommodations while in Barbados with Accra nor will I recommend them to anyone who asks. Their business practices are suspect and I would beware and be cautious about dealing with Accra.

WARNING!!! DO NOT STAY HERE. This hotel is way past its sell by date and needs closing to refurbish many of the bedrooms and communal areas. We were taken to our room, an ocean front room, through what can only be described as the most dirty and shabby aray of corridors I have ever experienced in a hotel. When we entered the room it smelt of damp, the room was shabby, and the patio doors not particularly secure. We complained the next day to Rachel and des[pite her alleged attempt to find us an alternative room she stated that the hotel was full and no other rooms were available. She stated she would keep an eye on the situation and update us. We never saw or heard from her again over the 10 days were stayed. The last 4 days of our stay we were the only guests remaining in our room at the wing we were staying. The other guests obviously moved and some serious renovation works were stored with plumbing pipework being stored outside our room and dust and banging going on throughout the day! The bar constantly ran out of drinks, the seating area uninviting and dirty and never appeared to be cleaned or wiped down,the breakfast was limited and repetitive, and the majority of the staff could not be bothered. The swimming pool was dirty and never appeared to be cleaned, the pool bar closed at the start of our stay. With an amazing location on rockley beach it is a shame.A suggestion would be to delete the drone video from their website as it does not reflect the true condition and facilities of this hotel. Will never return to this hotel.
