Albatros Beach Hotel

First time in Sicily and it didn’t disappoint. We are staying at the Albatros Beach Hotel This hotel is amazing, the staff are outstanding pros , the food is exceptional beautiful, different menu every night. The desserts are a work of art! Special mentions to Eduoardo wine master, brilliant sales man always enticed us with a glass of red. Mauritzio always attentive, friendly and all round team player. Tino, boss man , conducting a finely tuned orchestra! Gianluca , waiter extraordinaire , fabulous, attentive and just fab. Also Beatrice on reception very informative and helpful. This place is superb, the food is outstanding, I can’t say any more to praise this hotel. Thankyou for all you have done for us Karen and Adrian room 113 x

Excellent hotel. Service was 10/10. The staff were friendly, attentive and made us feel very welcome. The hotel was perfect. The only thing we would liked to have been informed about was that 14th August is a big festival/bank holiday for the Italians. The traffic on the local roads in Lettojanni was very busy for the first three days of our holiday. The shuttle bus was cancelled to Taormina due to excessive traffic. Lettojanni is a family, friendly place. We enjoyed a boat trip around the coast. Which was good value for money. Excellent variety of restaurants.

We had a wonderful time in Hotel Albatross! My family and I stayed here for 10 days this Summer. The hotel is beautifully maintained and cleaned everyday. The hotel has its own private beach at the front with plenty of sunbeds, a bar and lifeguard. It is beautiful and the waters are crystal clear. It was a joy to swim in the sea everyday and we didn’t need a pool! There is an extra charge for the sunbeds but totally worth it. The breakfast was plentiful with lots of choice. We enjoyed the cooked breakfast and all the fruits. The staff worked extremely hard at breakfast and in the beach bar and were always incredibly polite and friendly. We especially want to thank Benedetta on Reception desk for helping us arrange a special birthday breakfast for our daughter’s 21st. She was so kind and helpful. And also to all the friendly breakfast staff who happily accommodated our needs. It was a perfect morning and we are so grateful. 🙏 Also many thanks to Beatrice on reception too who helped us sort out some fantastic trips on our holiday. We would especially recommend a sunset boat trip with Giacomo and Antonella it was so beautiful. Also the shuttle bus to Taormina was a real treat and easy to book for a small cost at reception. Our favourite restaurant in Letojanni was Pasta Amore e Fantasia which was five minutes walk from the hotel opposite the beach. The pasta, seafood and meat dishes were delicious and the best sea bass I ever tasted! We also loved Mama Rosa restaurant in Taormina. We had a very good meal there. I couldn’t recommend this hotel more it has everything a family needs for a wonderful holiday. It is a perfect relaxing centre for easy 20minute trips to Taormina. And longer day trips to Etna and Siracusa. The beaches and coastline are wonderful. Sicily is a magical place to visit!

We had a week in the lovely town of Letojanni. It’s just 15 minutes to Taormina by the hotel bus but without the frenetic nature of this place. The hotel is right on the beach and our deal included Sunbeds for the week. The beach is pebbly so bring jellies or beach shoes and the water crystal clear. The main pool is very small and the seats around it are bean bags and not for sitting in for long. The main hotel is spotless with staff cleaning around the clock. Our room overlooked the pool and was fine for the week. A good sized comfy bed and a decent sized shower. Balconies were small and overlooked. Some of the rooms in the middle of the hotel have no view at all so worth checking which room you are in. Staff were unfailingly helpful. What lost it a star was the breakfast. No fresh fruit unless you peeled it yourself and virtually the same offer every day for the week. Some fresh fruit salad would have been nice. They do have a gluten free section of breads, croissants and cakes which was good to see. If you want your own eggs or omelettes there is an additional charge. Letojanni is a lovely town with a range of restaurants on the front a beautiful square full of eateries and bars and several supermarkets on the road behind the sea front. Cafe Il Gabbiano is a few metres away serving fab patisseries, ice cream, coffee wine and spritz is well worth visiting.

This hotel is in a great location right on the beach, the shuttle bus to Taormina is very efficient and we used it many times during our stay (€5pp each way is much cheaper than taxi costs). The staff can’t do enough to help you, the rooms are clean, spacious and air con worked perfectly. Breakfast was good - plenty of choice and didn’t ever get too busy. The complimentary drinks when they realised it was my birthday whilst staying was a very kind addition.

Albatros Beach Hotel is in a great location. A 30 minute bus journey to Taormina with the bus stop being just a short walk away from the hotel. The bus journey was a nice travel taking in some of the sites on the way. Only costing about 1.30 euros pp ew. It comes once an hour though in the daytime The staff are very helpful & have good knowledge of the area. We had breakfast every day whilst we were here, which had a good selection. We even had a takeout breakfast for our early departure and it was very good indeed. The room was nice & modern & very clean. However, the wardrobe is not suitable for dresses as it’s short with drawers underneath. The shampoo is terrible, it’s like water - no conditioner supplied so I’d recommend taking your own, of both. The pool area is nice however no parasols & it’s super hot especially on the floor, the seats are strange not fir lounging but okay to sit on briefly. A big bonus whist relaxing on the beach on the sun loungers, was that the WiFi reached! The sun loungers are chargeable at €25 for two on the first two rows and €20 for rows 3 and behind Lovely array of restaurants along the seafront close by. We ate at Mama a steak restaurant opposite the seafront which was nice just make sure if you do too, that they don’t charge you for drinks they bring out that you haven’t asked for but just bring over after you’ve eaten ie: limoncello or a different version to help with digestion they say haha - my husband had his but I declined yet they were both on the bill There is a local gym close by, out the rear entrance of the hotel turn left and keep walking up the road you’ll find it on the right hand side charges at €10 per day it’s not open everyday though but enough Overall a lovely place to stay in Sicily
