The Fairmont Resort Blue Mountains first opened in 1988, and unfortunately it does look its age. There was a slightly creepy looking fairground organ on the walk to the room lifts, as well as a more impressive train set. Cleanliness was a clear issue though. One of the supposedly fresh towels was badly stained, and housekeeping somehow left a half-empty bottle of wine in the wardrobe - as well as several stains on the room carpet.

No towel in room. Called many times over 20 minutes but no one picked up the phone. Finally got someone on the phone who apologised and said would deliver right away. But the towel never came The connecting door in the room to the next room is a bit annoying as well as the guests next door made noise all night. Otherwise gorgeous view from breakfast hall. Many interesting activities. Beautiful building.

This is a large hotel with an enormous kids' zone. The surroundings are very pleasant, and I enjoyed taking a comfortable morning stroll around the property. Despite being an older establishment, the rooms are impeccably clean, wonderfully spacious, and completely odor-free. The hotel restaurant also offers reasonable prices and decent food.

Everything is great. The property is a little aged but believe that's part of the charm. The steakhouse is excellent both in terms of service and food quality. Breakfast could be better with more variety.

We visited during the Australian school holidays, so the hotel was fully booked. The hotel is quite large, and although the facilities are a bit older, it's very family-friendly. I'm not sure if it was because we booked through Ctrip, but our breakfast was arranged in the VIP area, which offered superb views. A 1.5-hour hike from behind the hotel to see the Blue Mountains is also an excellent option. Highly recommended!

Don't bother coming here, especially with kids – you'll be worried about them getting sick. Cleanliness: Poor Environment: Noisy Facilities: Old and run-down Service: Many facilities were closed. Definitely won't be back. It felt very dirty. The soundproofing is terrible; you can hear everything happening in the hallway. The food was also very mediocre. An extremely poor experience with no redeeming qualities.

Rooms are very outdated at this hotel. Stains on the carpet. Our room was facing the pool side, was quite noisy from kids screaming in the morning. The breakfast had a great view, but the breakfast itself wasn’t great. Scrambled eggs were watery and overdone. The facilities for kids were great. Had fun in the giant slide in the garden, the pool, the mirror maze and the arcade. But all facilities had to be closed by 12pm for an event on the Sunday (no notice of this whatsoever before or after I booked this hotel). Overall this is a family resort but rooms are pretty tired.
