Hôtel le Grand Chalet
"Nice hotel and lovely staff. We have a good time staying here."
Hotel Central Résidence
"The hotel was much better than I imagined. A great stay for Christmas. A very comfortable stay, reception very helpful. My e.u 2 point plug didn't fit as swiss is 3 point plug and Reception lent me their convertor plug the whole duration.. i took the half board option as we went for skiing and travelling and would sometimes be out in the day. The breakfast was plentiful. A range of continental and bacon and eggs. Various options for evening meal. Good location, with great views and a short 10 minute walk to the slopes, however there is a free bus to go up and down to Leysin village . A 10 minute walk to the train station in the opposite direction. We tried the toboggan park whilst there too. I travelled as a single female with 2 children and my stay couldn't of been more welcoming and at ease. "
La Tour d'Aï
"The room was very clean, but the restaurant that tells us no more restaurant, we saw people eating there, the smell of food in the rooms, noise damage and communication concerns are the No answers to e-mails, we didn't even know how to do for dinner and breakfast. Also ... very little choice see no choice ... Fortunately the partner, the Leysin restaurant has gone up the bar of our weekend .... Excellent meal (bourgeois fondue)! Positive element all the same park places at the side of the hotel, and a balcony with a quite pleasant view, but that had to be shared with neighbors ..."
Leysin Lodge
"Booked here as my husband wanted to look at mountains while having a morning coffee and wow it certainly delivered that. Views are amazing and the balcony got the sun all day. We booked a comfort room. It had 2 bedrooms, one had bunk beds for the kids. The kitchen was well equipped including an oven and coffee machine. The balcony was great and could comfortably fit all 4 of us 2 adults and 2 teens. As well as table and chair to eat at, there were also deckchairs to lounge in. The staff are great, very helpful and friendly. You can also pay and get pastries delivered on a morning. You just pop your form into the reception the day before. The only minor issue is the car park is down the hill, not a problem for me but the kids had a moan. You can take the car up to drop off stuff but then it needs to be parked in the car park. Although the views are fab the downside to this, is that it's located up a few steep hills, going down is ok but it's quite a trek going up. Phew. There is plenty of parking in Leysin for when we were feeling lazy. There are a couple of supermarkets in Leysin, we preferred the Coop and some lovely restaurants. We particularly loved the Turkish Street food and kids loved the pancakes at Creperie des Alpes. We also took the chair lift from the village and drove down into Aigle where there was a festival on and had a great time. Leysin was a great base for exploring the places we wanted to visit. Including Montreux on lake Geneva. We hired a car and never had a problem parking anywhere."
Alpine Classic Hotel
"1. The shower bracket was broken so the shower head kept falling off. 2. There were red and brown stains on the walls and curtains. 3. The ropes on the flag poles outside were tapping all night. However, the staff on the reception and bar were friendly and helpful. The young lady working at the bar was lovely. There was also a microwave oven at the bar that guests could use to warm up snacks. I expect you could warm baby food and milk there as well. Leysin itself doesn’t really have much to offer visitors apart from skiing and a few gift shops. The pavements in Leysin have not been very well maintained and there were loose cobbles that could pose a hazard to older people or children. Neither would it be suitable for those in a wheelchair or using walkers as Leysin is situated on a long, winding road leading up a hill to a ski lift at the top. A small railway in Leysin takes you down to nearby Aigle that has more in the way of shops as well as a railway station and bus station. It also has a few beggers, so be careful!"
